John McCain Goes Beyond The Pale, Even For John McCain

5:52 pm EST September 9th, 2008 | Uncategorized | 20 Comments

McCain’s new ad twists and contorts the truth until there are only lies left. It says Obama supported sex ed over learning for children, when in fact the program Sen. Obama supported was one that would educate children on how to defend themselves versus child sex predators.

John McCain has no shame, but you knew that already.

Obama:

“It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign to use a bill that was written to protect young children from sexual predators as a recycled and discredited political attack against a father of two young girls – a position that his friend Mitt Romney also holds. Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn’t define what honor was. Now we know why,” said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

    Bwah! More like that, please!

  2. Nimrod Gently says:

Jesus Christ that is enraging. Well done to the Obama campaign for calling him on it.

  3. Fra says:

The ad twists the truth about a policy statement, and a law passed to protect young children.

It is NOT fair, but neither is characterizing it as an “attack on the father of two young children”, or bringing in Mitt Romney.

    Score: Obama -0-, McCain -0-

Shall we discuss the “Sambo meme”?

  4. Nimrod Gently says:

Are you deliberately obtuse, or what? Nil nil my arse.

  6. Dr. Squid says:

Yes, he is deliberately obtuse, but since he’s a superior conservative whose conservative morals are so much better than ours, it really doesn’t matter.

Meanwhile the Gang Of Perverts strikes again. Go tell McCain he can bogart David Vitter’s diapers now.

So Fra = Frank diSalle = duh?

Three concern trolls rolled into one! What a bargain.

  8. Dr. Squid says:

That bill actually dealt with what kindergarteners should do when a Republican touches them.

  9. Frank DiSalle says:

    Hey, Buma !

    That was a typo…

You may now recover your composure…

You might delete this, Oliver, but the people responsible for this ad, including McCain, and anyone who tries to defend it in any way are low down, filthy, evil fucks.
How goddamn low can you go? POW my ass. Fuck that.

  12. Parthenon says:

Anybody old enough to remember Republican campaigning that didn’t make you feel a little dirty having seen it in action? I mean, nothing against the party at large, got some good Republican friends and all, but… Jesus.

John McCain believes children should be easy prey.

  14. mambochicken23 says:

Un-fucking-believable. That is enraging. Who the fuck does this?

I had a great deal of respect for John McCain about 8 years ago. That respect began to dissolve over the last few years, with him retreating on everything that he had once stood for in order to pander to his party. But to be perfectly honest, I still had a modicum of respect for the man… until now. That’s it. It’s over. Fuck that guy.

Anyone who can watch that ad and still respect McCain, much less VOTE for him, is an asshole who needs to get their head examined. Or better yet, kill yourself.

  15. Nimrod Gently says:

You know, I had ago at him for his inability to follow through, but in the end, even Frank thought this advert was wrong, and that’s saying a lot.

  16. Bruce Henry says:

The upside for McCain is that he’s won NAMBLA’s endorsement.

  17. TheCraig says:

McCain would rather see your kids molested than lose an election.

  18. anotherbozo says:

I heard on the teevee that Obama has put the brakes on any 527 ads that would go after McCain. Is this true? And if so, will he reconsider? No need for him to get down in the mud, I want to say shit, with McCain; but it’d be good to point out why many of us are HORRIFIED by the specter of a totally unprincipled, opportunistic liar serving 4 MORE years in the White House, this one perhaps even worse than the last, given his hotheaded temperament and penchant for impulsive, risky decisions (e.g., Palin).

Where is MoveOn.org when you need them?

I originally posted this on Ragged Thots

For fans of the show 30 Rock, there was an episode in Season 2 where James Carville appeared at himself, and was dispensing some political advice – change the issue. He pointed out in 2004, you had an unpopular war, so the Republicans bring up Swift Boats and gay marriage. In 2008, you have a debt-ridden economy and failing investment banks, un-ending military commitments overseas – so you bring in an exciting new face in the form of Sarah Palin. After continuous coverage since 2007 of Obama and McCain, she is a new factor, and with less than 2 months to go, it may give the Republicans just enough juice to carry over to Election Day.

Obama and Co. need to change the game – drop the deference to McCain and how this behavior is unbecoming of him. It is not – it is who he is, and always has been. And if you need to bring things to a personal level, I have a suggestion – the Beltway Snipers.

In 2002, Chief of Montgomery County Police Charles Moose was in charge of the mult-jurisdictional investigation to catch the snipers. Within a few days, McCain got on TV to urge that Moose be replaced, since progress was not meeting his standard. Thankfully, Moose was kept on the job, and the snipers were soon caught. Here is John McCain, putting a police investigation at risk, just because he thinks he knows how police work is done.

Get Moose in a commercial – now!
