The GOP’s Mistake In Attacking Community Organizing
Tweet
The backlash keeps building and building. Because its an activity that leans left, the mainstream media is totally unaware of how pissed off people are. But then, who are involved in community organizing are pretty good at… organizing. Beware.
People do remember that Sen. Clinton became a major rallying point for the right, allowing them to unite in opposition, right? Okay.

So true. You don’t want to mess with people who tend to have access to things like phone lists, maps, public speaking skills and idealistic values. They already know what to do; they barely need training. It’s not like they weren’t already likely Obama voters, but a whole bunch of them in swing-state cities may be motivated to do GOTV in the cold.
Plus, when you telegraph by your policies and attitude that your administration is going to cut the legs out from their funding (i.e. all for war, damn little or none for community organizations/social work, etc.), it starts looking like it’s a smart career move to help decapitate Team McCain. As in use a sick day or two.
But wait, I thought conservatives were all about private citizens helping each other rather than expecting the government to do so, and now it’s something to be sneered at while proclaiming government does the real work?
Hah, just kidding. Who would ever expect consistency from conservatives.
“Jesus Christ was a community organizer; Pontius Pilate was a governor.”
Maybe all those fundamentalists who were whooping and hollering at the Republican Convention should read their Bibles a bit more carefully.
when john mccain and his vp started poking fun about senator obama worked as a community organizer, little did they know, they were critizing what it takes to be a leader, someone who was willing to help others who had just lost their jobs .that someone to me and millions of others will make a great president, because he is one of us who know all about hard time. therefore, the only things mccain/palin are only concern is about the rich. we dont need an out of touch mccain for president, and his comedian vp palin in the white house.
“Jesus Christ was a community organizer; Pontius Pilate was a governor.”
I wonder if the person who said that , was the same person who said the Holy Family were a homeless couple, and Mary was an unwed mother.
Read the Bible, indeed!
Comparing your candidate to Jesus? Nice…
The GOP has gone from “1000 points of light” to mocking community organizers in fairly quick order. I hope they get stung enough to regret it.
