Wow, Gov. Palin really got your panties in a bunch Oliver…

  2. You do understand that what I do here is comment on what’s in the news, right? Jesus.

  3. Changey McHoperson says:

You do understand that I am still waiting on you to reply to my question about Biden the racist, right? Jesus.

  4. Repack Rider says:

I think it’s pretty amusing that the speech was written before they knew who would give it.

As speeches go, it was a beautifully delivered complete vacuum. There was nothing in it but snark and over the top worship of John McCain. It’s not like this woman has any ideas or plans for the future to lay out for us.

And it’s pretty funny that the “reformers” who want “change” in Washington can’t mention WHO has been president for the last eight years. How can anyone talk about events in the nation without mentioning the president’s name, the economy being in the tank, a hugely unpopular war, or the corruption that the “reformers” need to clean out.

So because she had nothing else to talk about, she hurled mostly untrue accusations. Talk about EMPTY, it was like the vacuum between stars.

Dove the fact that the Democrats outdrew the Repubs on TV by about 5,000,000 viewers, and the RNC even lost viewers from its last convention. Could be a portent.

look for a stemwinder tonight, and a lot of repetition (accompanied by a rictus smile) of, “That’s not change we can believe in…”

  5. Changey McHoperson says:

    Any Kwame Kilpatrick news Oliver?

  6. A corrupt pol went to jail, what you think that because I’m black I’ve got to apologize for Kwame?

  7. Nimrod Gently says:

No, it’s because you’re black and a Democrat.

  8. Changey McHoperson says:

    You’re black? Who knew…

It has nothing to do with his race, it has to do with the fact that you rail against corrupt politicos with an “R” after their name, but are mysteriously quiet when a “D” is involved.

  9. jr says:

They mock Obama as the messiah but give the Stevensette more superhero traits every post

  10. Parthenon says:

Changey, I’m not trying to hijack every thread on the conservative blogs I read by essentially saying TED STEVENS DUKE CUNNINGHAM TOM DELAY HALLIBURTON over and over. Give it a rest. It’s not even tangentially connected. If you want to talk about Kwame Kilpatrick, I’m sure some Michigan local conservative blogs are beating it into the ground.

  11. Changey McHoperson says:

    Thanks Parth
    I’ll comment here if you don’t mind…

quote”Dove the fact that the Democrats outdrew the Repubs on TV by about 5,000,000 viewers, and the RNC even lost viewers from its last convention. Could be a portent.”

maybe it’s because the Republican constituency actually work…hhhmmm

    “I’ll comment here if you don’t mind…

Stick around. We all loooove hearing the insights from someone who spends more money protecting their 2nd Amendment rights than on dentistry.

  14. Life Sucks says:

What have the republicans done for you lately that makes you so supportive of them?

  15. buma says:

All year I’ve been snapping at DNC and DCCC telemarketers when they’ve called. I’m still pissed about how the Dems pissed away the Constitution on FISA and how they wouldn’t at least keep impeachment on the table. But after the nails-on-chalkboard Palindroning last night I donated $250 to Obama, and I have some catching up to do. This woman embodies the same hate and irritating hypocrisy as the purple heart band-aid morons of RNC 2004. It’s more of the same, with only a different face.

  16. namvetted says:

Speaking of FISA, how long do you think it will take the Republican minority in Congress and with Obama as our elected President to start trying to change it to the way it was way back in early 2008? I just heart me some Republicans, they tastes like CHICKEN.

  17. Repack Rider says:

I have noted online that Palin seems to have inspired a lot of people to contribute to Obama’s campaign. Maybe she’s a double agent.

  18. Nimrod Gently says:

Oliver’s been less than kind to Bill Jefferson, not to mention Cynthia McKinney.

  19. Hedley says:

The issue of the teleprompter was reported on MSNBC soon after the speech was over. Olberman and one of the female reporters whom I don’t recall were even discussing how in fairness to Palin, teleprompter issues can really throw you off your game. Olberman of course then had to make it about him and told of his first experience.

  20. Changey McHoperson says:

PD- A few questions: 1. What money do I spend protecting my 2nd Amendment rights other than purchasing as many shiny handguns as I possibly can. 2. How do you know what I spend on dentistry. 3. What’s it like being a complete douchebag?

  21. Quaker in a Basement says:

It didn’t break? That’s too bad.

I thought she had a good excuse for rambling on like a commenter at Malkin’s site. I guess she’s just a far-right wacko instead.

Did anyone break the news to Mr. Tea? He’d bought into that instamyth.

  22. Quaker in a Basement says:

And what did Erick do to piss off the guys at Politico? This is the second day in a row that they’ve dope-slapped him.

  23. Duros Hussein 62 says:

    Any Kwame Kilpatrick news Oliver?

Shorter Cnagey McWhiny: LOOK OVER THERE!!!

  24. Tyro says:

Oliver, you have to understand, the Republicans need their legends and their myths about their heros. It’s like how Kim Jong-Il claims to be a renowned playwright, author, and military genius as well as a respected dictator.

  25. GLV says:

“maybe it’s because the Republican constituency actually work”

At 9 PM? Where do they work, the swing shift at Mickey D’s?

  26. essrog says:

I just read that a dog bit a man!! 100% TRUE!

I am filled with yet more optimism with every new report of fresh tides of more wingnut-lying and officially sanctioned McLying off the podium,

and with every sorry attempt by C-list wingnuts to derail an issue in comments. Because these weak sauce tactics further confirm that they are campaigning with nothing, nada, and, as they proclaimed last night, ZERO, ZERO, ZERO

I believe in the America that does not fall for these bald-faced lies, whether offered willingly as a matter of wingnut faith or forced through a misguided sense of loyalty (my sympathies to Noonan Murphy … they know the score)

  27. daniel rotter says:

“maybe it’s because the Republican consituency actually work”.

Yeah, because if a person is not watching TV, that automatically means he/she is working. I guess this means that if someone is taking a nap, he/she is “working”.

    Better trolls, please.
