I hope the 38 million people that watched McCain’s speech were the same 38 million that watched Obama. I’d like to think our electorate is that discerning.

Hey Dave, how come there RNC didn’t feature 80,000 People waving the Flag on its final day? I think we need to ask, why do Republicans hate the Flag, is John McCain the only Republican who even cares about America?

I get it. I’ve seen a lot of American elections and I get how the Republican campaigns work now.

It doesn’t matter how good your candidate actually is. Hell, nothing about your candidate matters at all, their name, their history, their policies (should they bother to state any). If there’s a detail you can use as a backdrop, like “OMG HE WAS A POW”, that’s a bonus. But it doesn’t actually matter.

All that really matters is that the other guy SUCKS. Who cares what kind of a President McCain will make? At least he’s not Obama! That guy SUCKS!

John McCain’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention drew more television viewers than his rival Barack Obama attracted at the Democratic party’s event last week, according to preliminary ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

Across all broadcast networks Thursday, Sen. McCain’s speech ended the night with a 4.8 rating/7 share, compared to Sen. Obama’s 4.3/7 average, according to overnight numbers from metered households in 55 U.S. markets measured by Nielsen.

Palin has a 58% favorable rating, McCain 57%, Obama 57%, and Biden 48%.

Remember in previous elections, when the Dems lost, they tried to out-Republican the Republicans? They played the Republican game, let the Republicans set the rules. This time is different. Notice how politicians everywhere are trying to out-Obama Obama? All this talk of change, a shunning of “politics as usual” (which is a quote from Palin, though it is a phrase coined by Obama).

They know that they are losing so they are trying to capitalize on some of Obama’s strengths. They are trying to sound new, bold, progressive and independent. Problem is, no one (I say, NO ONE!)can out-Obama Obama.

Look, the man didn’t say anything he had done or will do for Americana.

How many times do we have to go back 40 years and relive the POW story with him. I honor his service so can we give him a Congress Medal of Honor or Freedom as the Best American POW and he can show the medal and not tell the story again.

I don’t want to hear the POW while millions of Americans are losing their homes and financially are going under.
