So rather than a 62 percent cut as was falsely claimed, Palin actually increasing special needs funding by 175 percent.

But I see you just took it as a given that this claim was true. No attempt to check it out for yourself or use any critical think skills. I’m disappointed.

So let me get this strait. Wooten signed a waiver as part of his divorce proceedings to release his files to his wife’s attorney (and was probably required to do so by the courts). It is therefore okay that his personnel file was then leaked to the press in defense of his ex-sister-in-law’s political campaign.

Really, how do you know that? Wasn’t that something in his personnel file that was constitutionally protected.

I read it on the DailyKos and heard it on CNN so it’s got to be true.

There’s no “allegedly” to it. Wooten admitted to it (and explained how and why it happened) as part of the formal police investigation into his conduct.

It’s the ex-brother-in-law who “allegedly” tazered a stepson who has constitutional rights as a US citizen.

I guess you only read half the story, Oliver. Let me fill in the blanks for you. Also from the same story linked:

The McCain-Palin campaign today launched a spirited defense when contaced by NBC News. They say the personnel files were not protected. A campaign source says Wooten himself had previously signed a waiver allowing a divorce lawyer to obtain his personnel records. The campaign then sent a copy of that waiver to NBC News, which reads, “I hereby waive any privilege I may have to said information to said attorneys.”

What’s interesting is that Wooten’s claim and a statement that Wooten had released access to his personnel files was originally included on Palin’s wiki entry (I saw it last Friday when Palin was first selected). Now, it’s nowhere to be found.

Most police officers are hard-working Americans who keep us safe. It’s a shame that corrupt union officials spend the money of these brave officers to defend the few “bad apples” in the bunch!
