For a long time, neither were most whites. Slavery means you do not have to pay for the labor you use, and for the first century of the country’s existence, many people seemed quite content with such a rejection of capitalism. This was followed by Jim Crow, which put into place labor market restrictions that no true lover of capitalism would want to observe. If it is my company, why should the government tell me I can’t hire blacks if they can do the job.

As for taxes, Bush has not exactly been eager to cut the most onerous of all taxes – the payroll tax.

The socialists aparently actually live in Alaska and Arizona where they get more in Federal spending than they pay in Federal receipts rather than the Blue staters who end up having to pay for them.
