Sen. Obama And His Fully Vetted Running Mate, Joe Biden

Heh.

Compare:

Over the course of two months, as the dynamics of the presidential campaign and world events shifted quickly, Biden’s stock rose through one of the most rigorous vice-presidential vetting processes that Democrats could recall. It was a process in which Obama applied intense secrecy, careful pragmatism and political input from a team of internal and external advisers that have guided his campaign from the start.

..

As the vetting team sorted through Biden’s financial statements, political statements and medical records, Obama’s top political aides — Axelrod chief among them — reached out to friends in Obama’s orbit to get a sense of what sort of politician Biden was.

This is how adults do things, not over-the-hill pissypant control freaks with anger and impulse control issues.

I’m still not convinced Biden was the best choice, but as long as he stays on message he’ll be fine. And I’m certain this was discussed with him beforehand.

I am positive that Obama had someone look over Biden’s medical records–and all that other annoying vetting stuff.

With the NYT and WaPo stories, I’m also convinced that no one in McCain’s campaign even critically assessed so much as Sarah Palin’s most recent financial disclosure form. They asked her to answer, in writing, a bunch of questions and really never looked at them until after John McCain made his impulsive decision to elevate her to Republican VP.

John McCain ran out of time (after five plus months as the effective nominee) and rushed through a very important decision-making process.

We see that McCain’s decisions are great if you’re a soap-opera writer. Not so great if you are interested in improving our country.

Not to toot my own bugle, but I suspected this 3 days ago.

McCain is awash in a sea of FAIL!

They keep on saying Obama ought to be up by 10-15 points. The guy doing the interview brought it up once again. In so many words, “You’re running against the most unpopular Administration in the history of the country, why aren’t you doing better?”

Somebody’s got to point out to these media people that Herbert Hoover was just about as unpopular when FDR was running against him in 1932 and not only was the race close, but quite a few people thought Hoover would pull it off!

The Republican Party has been looking like a cartoon of its former self in recent years. It has now officially entered the Looney Tunes land.

    Fully vetted.

Better still if Obama hadn’t let Vladimir Putin determine who he chose.

I like these guys. They go together well.

I do too. They’re like polar opposites, the hopey changey “New Way of Doing Business” guy on one side and the 35 year political insider on the other, but you can tell that they’re still the best of friends.

They’re like the Felix & Oscar of presidential candidates.

  8. Jaim says:

As opposed to the secessionist hypocrite re: birth control and the over-the-hill philanderer? Yeah, America is gonna pick Felix & Oscar.

I don’t think you’re going to be able to sell that as a sitcom.
