  We were hearing that McCain’s POW litany was becoming a punch line, but I couldn’t imagine a way to use it in an actual JOKE. Voilå!

  I remember Senator Kerry reporting for duty at the DNC convention ‘04. Same results as this year!!

  McCain needs retirement, not another job.

  Oliver,

  I was doing a bit of research on the campaign that Palin had for Governor, and I was shocked as to how unchallenged and untested she was during it!

  She ran against two Republicans for that nomination, and won largely because the two other candidates were men, who split the majority of the male vote. The incumbent, Murkowski, was horribly unpopular and accused of nepotism after appointing Lisa Murkowski to the Senate.

  She then ran against Tony Knowles, a former Democratic governor who was relatively unpopular and traditional in a corruption-tainted, reformist environment in Alaska… an Alaska that is typically very Republican.

  As a result, she greatly outspent her opponent, but ducked a ton of debates!

  I found a great clip from Tony Knowles on YouTube that hardly anyone has seen, giving a long litany of all the chances to meet with Alaskans that she routinely ducked during the campaign:

  We really have no idea how well she debates or campaigns… because she’s completely untested!

  Mark, I thought this thread is about McCain. I think Obama’s smart to lay off Sarah Palin’s inexperience as it’s neutralized any criticism of his “experience”. We should all wait to watch the Palin thing twist in the wind and not make up shit about her having a baby or not having a baby? ”

  however, that’s true. She’s never had much competition as it’s overwhelmingly Republican there.

  Anyway, the main issue is the policies of McCain vs. Obama. We have to keep it less about personalities as I think McCain/Palin is pretty comfy for many Americans.

  Check this Harper’s article. It seems that she has 2 nutty pastors in her past. And to top that they are tied into the Hagee end times pro Isreal looking for Armageddon end of fundamentalism that used to be called the lunatic fringe in America and is still regarded as lunatic in Europe.

  There is no way I want a death denying, evolution denying, end time lunatic like Palin with her finger anyway near the button.

  This is another illustration of the creativity/humor gap between liberals and conservatives. Poking gentle fun at McCain’s obsession is the best way to make it remains part of the permanent conversation.

  As much as the nutwingers claim that the “too many houses” issue died, any Google Blog or News search by date shows that it is alive and still costing McCain votes. The “Ask Me How Many houses I Have” button: BRILLIANT!

  When conservatives make a “joke,” somebody has to die for them to think it’s funny.

  Well Repack, unless you are a couple of high ranking democrat party officials joking about an apparent natural disaster about to hit New Orleans…in that case its more like when “liberals make a “joke”….eh?

  Which officials and what was the joke? Was it about McCain visiting NOLA? Was it one of those zombie lies, accompanied by a photo, about McCain having a birthday party and yukking it up with the president during the Katrina disaster?

  Is McCain considered a “natural” disaster or a “national” disaster? (h/t Oliver!)
