And though Palin may be a fundraising boon, they can only raise and spend money until Thursday, at which point they become bound by federal restrictions that come along with accepting matching funds. Still, in order to match McCain's total, Obama will have to spend at least some time fundraising in September & October while McCain/Palin will be campaigning full time. And this summer, despite cash advantages, McCain has narrowed the gap. I don’t think it’s fair to say that Obama has “used up his bank”, though is spending a whole lot for not much effect. And while Ms. Palin is perfectly entitled to believe that evolution is a myth, that women should be barred from choosing to have abortions, and that global warming has yet to be proven, these views all run counter to the views of mainstream America.
