By the time girlfriend undergoes Oct. investigation for having allegedly asked that her former brother-in-law be fired from his trooper gig, it’ll be too close and distracting to Nov. 4 to jettison her. It seems the stalwarts of the Democratic Party can and did run an excellent Convention. Now, the Repugs let a little storm get in the way of theirs.

Now if they’d built those levy’s stronger in New Orleans we wouldn’t be worrying would we? Instead the Republicans Bush and the Gov. of Mississipi and Lousiana spent 200 billion dollars on lining the pockets of Republican contractors and investors who used illegal labor while keeping most of the money for themselves and still the Gulf Coast isn’t built… (and the casinos are all that’s left for employment in Gulfport-Biloxi and precious little good paying work in New Orleans.

Yeah, the Republicans need to go run and hide.

“You can’t criticize someone who has survived cancer”.

I’m taking it you meant “shouldn’t” instead of “can’t” (which kind of implies that it is actually illegal to criticize someone who has survived cancer, which it, of course, is not) so I’ll respond in that context: No, you shouldn’t, if the specific criticism involves calling the cancer survivor “a cancer”.

duh, you are saying that, not me. There was nothing in that video that even suggested that the men wanted the hurricane to hit and or cause lost of human life or property damage. They were only talking about the TIMING of the threat coming at the time of the Republicans’ convention.

Do you remember the “much to do about nothing” video of Madeleine Albright at her hairdresser joking about a potential Republican October surprise for the November election during Clinton’s administration.

No Rotter, it is an EXPLANATION of her behavior. You don’t need to defend laughing at a talk show host.

And it is completely valid, as there is no other explanation for the horrible behavior demonstrated by senior Democrat party operatives laughing at a pending disaster in a city still reeling from its previous one.

At that point, you don’t laugh at the host and continue. If you’re a politician, you correct the host and continue. IIRC, even John McSame in the “bitch” Q&A laughed and then mumbled a disclaimer.

The only thing I can say in Palin’s defense is that on many liberal blogs, in the comments, people will say grotesque and outrageous remarks, and many of us will do the same as Palin, ignore the obvious bigotry, racism, sexism, insensitivity and continue. Neither our fellow commenters or ourselves are running for President or President-in-waiting, so she should behave better. (But so should we.)
