Stop, please.

Any achievements in my life are meaningless to you, as you will simply claim them to be a lie. Why bother? After all, they are mine, and your acclaim or criticism is meaningless to me, or any political argument I might make.

Funny. You insult me, and if I defend myself, this is what I get.

At least I caught one. Check that. I had a long career and caught a lot of touchdowns. I hold a couple of touchdown records. You’re like the cheerleader who wishes he was tough enough to be on the team, and covers his inability by putting down the guys who are.

But since my life is so empty and worthless, why don’t you tell us
about ONE thing you did that you’re proud of.

Prediction: because he has a big zero on his resume, Jay will scoff and tell us that he won’t play that game. All he can do is insult other people’s experiences without revealing why he is qualified to do so.

Right. Because making a crack (no pun intended) about somebody using drugs is the same as claiming somebody sexual abuses children.

No, he brings up his life story to lend validity to whatever point he made and that’s a logical fallacy. Responding to, “You wrote something incorrectly” with, “Well I had a book published and edited a magazine for 10 years” is variation of the fallacy of appealing to authority. “I know I am right because so and so said the same thing.”

As we get older, like me, we often use stories from our life experiences to rebut arguments, or emphasize a point. It’s not navel-gazing, it’s wisdom-sharing.

Unfortunately, he’s not sharing wisdom with anybody. He’s boasting and then attempting to have a dick measuring comments by laying out his resume and saying, “What have you done that tops this???”

People share wisdom when they use examples of their life experience to help illustrate their overall point of view, not to beat somebody over the head with and say, “I’ve done this so there!”

No reason you can’t do both.

The fact is that our media eats up “symbolism” crap, and they have for a long time. The Republicans figured that out long ago. Obama seems to be the first Democrat on the national stage to do so.

But I find it hysterical that the party of flag pins, “terrorist fist jabs,” and flight suits is whining about things being mere symbolism.

Who the frack on Obama’s campaign is taking a phone call from James Carville. The guy doesn’t know dick.

Have ever been to France? This is a ridiculous debate anyway, but since you brought it up I gotta say that there’s not much ketchup in France. It’s kind of an all-American blue-collar condiment.

Seriously repack, just make the argument about the point at hand. It is getting almost embarrassing listening to you say things like your “career” as a “roadie” was unbemlished.
