By their own supporters?? That’s who I’m talking about.

Be more specific next time, please. Thankies!

And Jay (let's try this one more time), if McCain never called Obama a "traitor", then I never called JWG a "pervert*". Fair's fair right?

*I think the actual word is getting the moderator to kick me

Whoa whoa whoa!

Are you drunk? Gore and Kerry were CONSTANTLY flagged down as elitists. Remember the whole "Bush is the guy you would want to have a beer with, Gore's an uptight interlectual!" meme?

What did Al Gore ever do to suggest to you that he has no moral compass?

I was referring more to the silver spoon. One does have to be amused at the attacks being leveled at John McCain when the Democrats have nominated in the last two election cycles:

A. One candidate who was born the son of a Senator. He went to Vietnam, but used Dad's connections to make sure he wasn't in harms way. He won Dad's old Congressional seat and used his name as a path to the US Senate.

B. Another candidate with wealth (Kerry was the beneficiary of several trusts from the Forbes side of the family) who married up into even more wealth. He played on his Vietnam service as pretty much the sole reason why he should be elected and was the beneficiary of his spouses wealth during his campaign.

Of course, they were held up as the salt of the earth.

Because they voted the right way.

Ok, if that's not what you did, then explain the following:

Ok, considering the fact that someone of your…um…character has most likely done something in the past that would make it illegal for you to be within 100 feet of children, I’m pretty sure this isn’t true.

Did I ever use the word 'pedophile'? Therefore, I accused no one of pedophilia.

Repack, you really are on fire!
Jay, like his compadres, think patrotism is all about bumper stickers and blowing shit up. Anyone who disagrees with them "hates this country" and therefore can be ignored. Or insulted.
That's why it's OK for McCain to constantly play the POW card, and why they get their knickers all knotted if his record is questioned. But swiftboating Kerry was fine.

Yet here you are, a National Merit Scholar, a vaunted E-5 in the army, inventor of an olympic sport and a hero to elderly mountain-bikers the world over, you move piano’s for a living.

If you bothered to check out my website, you would know that I also was a roadie for a San Francisco rock band in the '60s and '70s. I usually don't belabor the fact that I have had one of the most blessed life experiences anyone could want, but I can't help agreeing when other people point it out. I have a great family, too, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to mention them.

I hope you are not suggesting that moving pianos is a demeaning job. It pays about the same as psychotherapy or legal representation, but I don't have to deal with crazy or guilty people. The reason it pays so well is that anyone can be a psychotherapist or an attorney, but maybe one person in 10,000 can do what I do. It's a "free-market" thing, and you can't send my job to Pakistan to get it done for less.

I can see why you hate this country Repack, seriously.

Right. The sound you just heard was another brain cell exploding in your head. This country has given me a lot, which I appreciate every day, and I gave it my service as a young man.

Once again, what is the most patriotic sacrifice YOU have made for the country you claim to love more than do?

Umm, Zython, I hate to side with a thug like Jay, but it was just a few days ago.
That said, McCain's 50 year career of mediocrity and disgusting opportunism, helped along by naked nepotism, cannot legitimately be compared to the meteoric rise of Barack Obama. No matter how Jay and duh-mbass try to twist the facts.

Like Al Gore?

Just because Al Gore doesn't like it when companies pollute more than they have to doesn't make him evil. You really should've gone with Ted Kennedy. At least that would make some sense.

Having 7 wives = thinking that polluting the air might be a bad idea.

That's conservative "intelligence" for ya.

Of course, what does one expect from a pussy like Zython who accuses other people who comment here of being pedophiles?

When did I ever accuse anyone of pedophilia?

It’s easy to get ahead, no matter your ability (or lack thereof) when you’re born with a silver spoon in your mouth and no moral compass.

Like Al Gore?

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

Repack, great analysis.

Analysis? It's the left wing Paint by Numbers version of analysis.

It's easy to get ahead, no matter your ability (or lack thereof) when you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth and no moral compass. Nice to see that as a virtue for some reason.

I can see why you hate this country Repack, seriously.

Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

Repack, great analysis. However, you forgot the part about his 6 other wives and divorcing his first wife to set an example for them.

Repack, the problem with your poorly written hypothesis is that you're basing it all on conjecture and your own pathetic biases.

Anybody can play that game.

Anybody could sit here and pontificate that his acceptance to Harvard and his tenure as President of the Harvard Law Review was nothing but affirmative action in action. All sizzle, no steak. However, he rode the coattails of that to a him getting a free ride at the University of Chicago where he was essentially brought on board to do nothing but write a book. When he struck out in the legal profession, he turned to politics. He ran for office and became a state Senator where his biggest accomplishment was that he missed nearly 25% of the votes he was to cast. Sounds like a good spring-board to the federal level, where he won what was essentially an uncontested race in 2004. Since then, his biggest accomplishment in the United States Senate was about the same as the state senate: The number of votes he has missed. He has not chaired a single committee of any worth. He has written not a single piece of important legislation.

True Presidential material.

Yet here you are, a National Merit Scholar, a vaunted E-5 in the army, inventor of an olympic sport and a hero to elderly mountain-bikers the world over, you move piano’s for a living.

John McCain actually wanted to entry into public service for his country. The dirty rotten bastard! You’re and idiot Repack.

I love the smell of nutwing brain cells burning in the morning. Smells like...AAHHH!

Victory.

Since you have never served in the military, here's how it works. If an officer stalls at a grade with no further hope of advancement, he is shown the door. McCain stalled below flag rank, and he was NEVER going to get the stars his daddy and granddaddy wore.

Never.

McCain had come up against the Peter Principle. There was a reason why he had graduated in the lowest 1% of his class, and that class ranking would have been known to anyone considering him for promotion (most likely other USNA grads). He had been promoted above his level of competence, partly as a reward for surviving his imprisonment, and no further promotions were forthcoming. He didn't have the option of staying in the Navy. Mid-forties, only known skill flying fighters (but he had lost five of them so the airlines probably weren't interested), academically unimpressive, what are you going to do?

Giving a pretty rich girl the best sex of her life was a start. Not that it's a hard threshold to get over, but it required getting rid of the old, somewhat used looking wife and the kids. I'm guessing here, but I'll bet he didn't ask for joint custody.

Getting elected to congress on his father-in-common-law's money was not like getting a real job. Would you not concede that some pretty incompetent people manage to get elected to congress repeatedly from districts with overwhelmingly one-sided majorities?

Well then, there you have it. McCain didn't have to pass much of a test to get that job, since it was an open seat. He just had to be the Republic candidate.

I was also a National Merit Scholar, which I can assure you McCain wasn’t. More like a national DEmerit scholar.

Wow. That's like, so funny.

McCain, OTOH, would not have been admitted to Annapolis and is unlikely to have stayed there had not his daddy and granddaddy been grads and admirals.

And your evidence of this is? Oh wait. That's right. The left never needs evidence when it slurs a Republican. Just because a lot of people say it, it must be true.

but when given a command, he botched it so thoroughly that he was relieved after 18 months

That's a complete lie. In 1976, McCain was given command of the Navy's largest squadron. It took only 18 months for McCain to turn the whole thing around and the squadron won its first meritorious unit citation under his command.

The reason he quit the Navy and entered politics was because there his naval career had hit a dead end, so he needed a new wife who could afford his tastes and a job that would keep him from having to compete with anyone of any ability.

Oh the horror! John McCain actually wanted to entry into public service for his country. The dirty rotten bastard! You're and idiot Repack.

As noted above, McCain cost the taxpayers the price of FIVE aircraft

More idiocy. Jay Tea has already been through the "five planes" smear that McCain has been hit with, so I won't bother going through it again, but I just wanted to be able to call you an idiot again. Idiot.

Repack is on fire!

Yeah, I remember seeing a drunken idiot lighting his farts too. That's how much 'fire' he's on.

McCain did divorce his previous wife, honorably.

Honorably = while she lies sick on a hospital bed? Jesus fuck! I'd hate to see what you consider dishonorable.

Dump your disabled first wife and trade up to a young, blonde heiress?

And 6 other secret families.
