Never listen to Republicans and the media. Never.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama raised more than $51 million in July and the Democratic National Committee reported $27.7 million in donations last month, putting Obama in a strong position for the fall campaign.
Obama began August with $65.8 million on hand and the DNC had $28.5 million available, according to statements released Saturday. His July total was slightly less than the $52 million he raised in June but still eye-popping because he was off the fundraising circuit at home during his trip to the Middle East and Europe.
John McCain raised $27 million in the same time period.

OK, what about this one? Is this good news for John McCain too?
Well, then, if Obama’s having a cash crunch, that would explain his reversal on accepting soft money sponsoring the convention…
Is that the “change” of mind you were “hoping” for?

Money isn’t enough unless you use it–soon–to hit McSame where he lives. He scored well with the evangelicals last night, again without his bromides and lies being challenged. I agree with Frank Rich of this Sunday’s Times about the REAL Manchurian candidate, also with Trey Ellis of HuffPo in foreseeing the nastiness to come.
The Obama campaign has to do what the MSM won’t–show the public who McCain is, and isn’t. So far, post-primary, it’s been Kerry II–high-minded and far too “genteel.”
