Man is that Jerome Corsi a loathsome creature.
Dear Paul,
Thank you. You did an excellent job. It is nice to see that after so many years of Republican dominated media, that Democrats are finally being represented.
Thank you.
Vanessa
Watched that last night. Awesome. For a “HAH-vahd educated” man, Corsi is such a one-note whiner. No matter how completely Waldman points out the bogus sourcing of Corsi’s “footnotes” Corsi can only come back with “well this is just typical Media matters ad hominem”…

The problem is, Waldman didn’t point out any “bogus” sourcing. All he did was complain about some sources being “right wing websites” and “right wing blogs.” For Media Matters that could mean almost anything. And on that note, Corsi was right because it is a favorite tactic of ideologues (both left and right): to attack the source of information rather than the information itself.
The whole segment was a waste of time really. After watching, it reminded me of why I don’t watch that drivel anymore.
Shorter Jay: Yeah, some say that McCain fathered a black baby out of wedlock, others disagree. It’s too difficult for me to discern what’s true, so I just watch “24″ reruns.
That being said, I will say that Waldman did make a good point about Obama’s former drug use and how it was absurd of Corsi to question whether or not Obama was doing drugs while at Law School (even if he was, so what?) simply because it was only Barack Obama who claimed he was no longer doing drugs.
More Shorter Jay: What’s the big deal with Obama using drugs? Just because Obama used drugs, it doesn’t mean Obama uses drugs? Why would anyone think that Obama uses drugs? Obama used drugs. So what.
Hey ed, when you ever leave a comment that actually has any substance, I’ll be sure to say my final prayers, because the world will end.
Shorter Jay: I know you are, but what am I. No tag-backs infinity. Poopy-head.

When the source of information is a nut-bag asshat, I think it is relevant to point that out. Goes to credibility, your honor.
And Corsi goes to the well of Coulter many times. “Lookit how many footnotes and cites I have! They must be true based simply on their sheer numbers! Why, look, here’s a citation from a bumper sticker I saw one time!”
Hearing Corsi complain about ad-hominem attacks is bizarre, considering that his entire book is one big ad-hominem attack against Obama.
And on that note, Corsi was right because it is a favorite tactic of ideologues (both left and right): to attack the source of information rather than the information itself.
Actually Jay, it’s a favorite tactic of college professors, as well. It’s called citing legitimate sources to back up your thesis.
But I forgot, all college professors are left wing ideologues, anyway.
Too bad Corsi didn’t have it pointed out that if Obama can’t be trusted to be off drugs, then Bush can’t be trusted to be off booze or drugs either, and Corsi had no problem boosting G.W. over Kerry. Waldman should have hit Corsi with a couple examples and pinned the dishonesty thing to him for the rest of the segment rather than pointing out that his footnotes are crap. Of course, it would have been cool if Waldman took a shot at Larry and CNN for constantly giving tools like Corsi a platform while ignoring progressives.
