		<description>I can&#039;t believe I&#039;m defending this, but... I think by &quot;emissions&quot; they mean the usual sense of &quot;how much CO2 is generated by day-to-day life&quot;.  IOW heating/cooling my house generates X tons/year, heating my water, driving my car, entertainment, and so on.

The Center&#039;s point, such as it is, being that an immigrant&#039;s lifestyle in their country of origin would overall produce less CO2 than they would in the US.

Not that the idea of immigrant farts melting the icecap isn&#039;t amusing.

The idea that the solution to high CO2 generation in the US is not to reduce our own emissions by conservation and lifestyle modification but by reducing the number of people instead, is the stupid part.</description>
