This list is just aweful!! I have read alot of comic books and I've never heard of some of these characters. #1 (SM) and #2 (BM) are good, and interchangable for me. But the rest are just in the wrong order. Really, the list sounds like a bunch of elitist nerds who want to show how much they know about obscure comics. I'm suprised there is not more Manga characters in here.
BTW, The Punisher is Marvel's answer to Batman (at least the post 60's version of Batman), not Captain America. Think about it. They're both dark vigilanties, without powers, on the prowl against criminals to set things right because their families got smoked.

Can we just forget about top x of x lists entirely?

Why? They're fun, and have no authority. Like the Oscars.

Sorry, any list that puts Deena Pilgrim and Halo Jones ahead of Dr. Doom is invalid. I mean, the weight's obviously tilted towards Brit writers, with Spider Jerusalem and Constantine in the top 10, and Halo Jones on there at all. . . but I'm a total Marvel fanboy and putting Wolverine that high on the list is just dumb. Ahead of Spider Man and Ben Grimm? Seriously?

Can we just forget about top x of x lists entirely? The discussion they generate tends to be on the stupid side. See the above paragraph for proof.

Well they got the TOP of the pecking order right. And it's a Brit mag, so that explains why they think Judge Dredd is so hot. Jesse Custer is the preacher from Preacher.

Really? John Constantine at #3, Wolverine ahead of Spider-Man, Punisher ahead of Wonder Woman and Captain America, and Judge Dredd even on the list at ALL, and you think they got the pecking order right?

And I don't even know who Jesse Custer and Deena Pilgrim ARE.
