Hawaii Senator Daniel Akaka Rebukes Cokie Roberts Calling The State “Foreign”

Smackdown. Sen. Akaka:

“Saying our 50th state is somehow “foreign,” does a great disservice to the hard working, patriotic Americans who call Hawaii home. For months people have been asking me, ‘when is Sen. Obama going to come home?’ I’m so glad he found time to visit his sister and his grandmother, show his daughters more of his home state, and relax a little. Hawaii is a great U.S. destination, just ask the 5.5 million Americans who visited last year for business and pleasure.”

The mainstream press should just shut their face.

    When did Cokie Roberts become a complete xenophobic idiot?
    I used to respect her–those days are gone.
    I realize she was and is a Clinton supporter, but this is beyond the pale. Why
    doesn’t she just bleach her hair, shorten her skirt and get hired on at FOX so
    she and the rest of the rabble there can howl at any number of imaginary moons.

    Cokie Roberts and most of the gang at National Public Radio have been out-of-hand for years. She and her husband, Steve, are part of the D.C. village and are prime examples of what is wrong with the MSM in this country.
