Gas Industry Fears Obama

They won’t run his ads taking McCain to task about energy. I guess since they’ve already bought and paid for “the Maverick”…

Not only that- corporate media won’t loop footage of McCain telling a crowd of 50,000 bikers at Sturgis, S.D. that Cindy should enter their “beauty” (read wet tee shirt) contest. But if Obama had done that to Michelle…
Good thing “Shelly” didn’t boost painkillers…
There is a Gas Station TV? Where the heck do they operate? I frequent a dozen gas stations in the Phoenix area and twice that during travel in the AZ, NM, and West TX area. None of those stations even have a TV, unless you count their closed-circuit security camera ones. Does GSTV provide the “radio” which is piped in to the stations?
I guess I missed when the Fairness Doctrine was reinstated. I fail to see how and why a private company should be required to run advertisements from someone who threatens the profits of that company’s clients.
Non-story (BTW, SFC -there are gas pump video screens all up and down the MA pike). Seriously, airlines that show Rain Man have the entire scene where Dustin Hoffman rattles off plane crash statistics yanked, I shit you not.
Makes sense on the industry end. They are not obligated to be a public service. Imagine going to an ATM and watching an animated clip of where your bank fees are going? Not going to happen.
Well, I’m feeling totally gyped in my gas station using experience.
Nah. The whole idea of an illuminated TV screen atop several thousand gallons of gasoline aint’ very smart.
Companies are private entities. The airways aren’t.
