Actually, fixing the short term means a lowered national speed limit, proper inflation of tires, and proper maintenance of engines. But that’s apparently too elitist. Driving 90 mph while running the tires flat on a pickup that hasn’t had a tuneup in 5 years, that’s a real American for you.

HOT White woman’s with a GED is more qualified than a Black man with a Harvard Law Degree to be President of the United States.

I’m still not buying Paris Hilton’s claim to a GED which she says was earned in 1999, but her dad couldn’t confirm it in 2003.

I guess White folks are having fun teaching Barack Obama how to have a sense of humor while combat troops will be in Iraq protecting the Iraqi government that’s pro US adding on to the already $79 billion of oil revenues in US banks.

For better or worse, I truly believe US citizens will get the government it deserves on November 4.

Politics can be funny, in other countries much more so than the United States. I strongly recommend watching a session of the British House of Commons, with the Government and Shadow Government taking turns zinging each other to the cheers and catcalls of the MPs. No attempts at serious gravitas and importance.

In an earlier thread, I said I readily confuse Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

Now I have a way of telling them apart: Hilton can articulate a coherent energy policy. The kind of one I’ve always believed in — fix the short-term NOW. Once that gets going, move on to a mid-term solution. And start research on a long-term one.

Another way I can distinguish Hilton from Spears: Hilton can actually appear very articulate and knowledgeable and sensible and even compelling when working off a teleprompter and cue cards. Like Obama. It’s when they go off the script that they run into trouble.
