Seriously? This guy? You ask him a pretty easy question and he loses his place. Look, I wouldn’t have a problem if we made John McCain the president of shuffleboard… but not the United States. (via)

McCain is still learning how to get on the youtube.

  2. Rheinhard says:

Why wasn’t that girl ejected? McCain’s handlers are falling down on the job?

  3. Lib4 says:

Wow devastating …seriously you are running for President of the USA in 2008 and you cant address your civil rights record….well I guess since he doesnt have one its easy to understand the stammering…..

Now if and when the Obama campaign uses this footage the reporter will be accused of being a plant for the campaign even though its a fair and legitimate question

  4. ed says:

Gosh, why is the McCain campaign focusing so much on Obama rather than their own guy?

It would be interesting if some decent reporter revisited the South Carolina Flag Situation. More uncomfortable contortions, looooonnnngggg pauses, and outright bullshit, to be sure.

  5. duh says:

when are you going to put on the Obama “ummmm….uh….ummmm….” video?

    Obama: thoughtful. McCain: doddering.

sounds like blatant ageism to me.

If you think McCain’s too old to be President, that’s your problem. I just think he’s too confused to be President.

  9. anotherbozo says:

“sounds like blatant ageism to me.”

No, it’s not. I’m 65 and know several sharp people in their 70’s. However, not all remain sharp at that age, just as some aren’t mentally competent even when they’re young. McCain’s mind shows signs of serious leakage, and never mind Obama, I’d be petrified if he won.

Now, the bigger question: when are the Obama folks going to start with the serious, probing ads? The string of shots featuring McCain’s lapses, confusions, and blunders, not to mention the candid shots in which he reveals the extremism of his policy proposals and horrific ignorance (“100 years,” finding “outrageous” that the employed pay for the retired re Social Security, etc.)? This election should be no where NEAR a statistical dead heat. I fear Obama is listening to Kerry’s advisors from 2004. Tell me it ain’t so.

  10. Kim says:

    my candidate for negative ad:
McCaine singing Bomb Iran FADE TO McCaine saying we’ll stay in Iraq 100 years FADE TO McCaine sputter when asked about Viagra FADE TO the spot above. Then the punchline title BUT IS HE READY TO LEAD?

  11. duh says:

well bozo, you are right about one thing: The election should be no where near a dead heat.

If you took the letter symbolic for republicans R and the letter D and all of our historical electoral prognostication, the R should be losing a landslide. Barack is in big trouble. I know a boatload of hollywood liberals who are refusing to vote for him, some may even throw the lever for McCain.

  12. Repack Rider says:

It certainly isn’t agism to call McCain confused. My mom is 88 years old and considerably less confused than McCain. Of course, that’s a pretty low threshold, since a $#!thouse rat is less confused than McCain.

  13. buma says:

I wonder why McCain’s adviser Karl Rove lets him get into predicaments like this one.

  14. durablend says:

The simple fact that even if Johnny were to kill his own wife a third of the country would still vote for him without a second thought (and a commercial yelling “BOO!” would get at least some of another third–possibly enough to win)

  15. The thing of it is (and why this election is a perfect Racial Rorschach Test), Ronald Reagan speaks well, tells entertaining stories and wows crowds- Great Communicator. Bill Clinton plays sax, is a great orator, jabs at air w/ index finger = Great Communicator.

Barack Obama exhibits poise, fires up crowds, speaks from heart- Self-Absorbed Empty Suit, Messiah Complex, Celeb Airhead.

  16. C.S.Strowbridge says:

“I know a boatload of hollywood liberals who are refusing to vote for him, some may even throw the lever for McCain.”

    I bet you are lying.
