Oprah Quitting TV Show In 2011

FINALLY.

He’s #81 in your playbook, but you can refer to him from now on as Hall of Famer Art Monk.

Former Washington Redskins teammates Art Monk and Darrell Green are among the six players who are about to be enshrined at Canton, Ohio.

Monk won three Super Bowls with the Redskins and was the NFL’s single-season receptions leader with 106. He also set a league mark by grabbing at least one pass in 164 consecutive games.

Green was a seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback and four-time All Pro who helped the Redskins win two Super Bowls.

Congrats to D.G. too. A good day for the burgundy and gold.

BONUS: Sweet, sweet van.

Art made Pro Bowl cornerbacks look like undrafted free agents

It’s about damn time they put him in.

There was always an awful lot of opposition to Monk among hall voters. I have no idea why that would be.

Congrats to former Philadelphia Eagle Art Monk; a class act and a great receiver..it truly is about time…

  5. Class, class, class. So long overdue, a former all-time receptions leader.

It was so, so beautiful. The whole weekend

I was on the fence about this one for a long while. But the thing that put me over was – he was never referred to as “Art Monk.” He was always referred to as “The Great Art Monk.”
Yeah, Jerry Rice blew him out of the water. But there’s no shame in that. He deserved it. Class guy. Great ballplayer. And I hate hate HATE the Redskins. But both he and DG deserved the honors they got.
