Return Of Bret Favre

Bret Favre

Favre has faxed a reinstatement letter to the NFL. I hope once he comes back he falls flat on his face. What should have been a top athelete going off into the sunset turns out to be just another spoiled brat.

As a Seahawks fan, I have a special place for Favre and his retirement. If he would have kept his word the first time, maybe we would have gotten past Round 1 last year…

You all are pretty harsh on a guy for wanting to keep working.

Why should you be the one to decide when he goes ‘off into the sunset?’

I hope the Redskins sign him.

Favre’s the Terry Funk of football with these fake retirements

  4. Lib4 says:

Completely agree….his selfish and spoiled antics ruined the great respect I had for him.

And James HE made the choice to leave…if the Packers have other plans tough luck….if I retired from my job and 4 months later went to my boss crying and demanding that I be given my position back what the hell do think would happen….

The Packers should trade his ass to Miami and let him suffer and if he refuses the trade then we will know if he really wanted to keep working or be a selfish brat….

Agreed. He was never that good anyway. He will indeed suffer and the Packers have every right to pack him off. Poor new guy. Go Patriots.

Even as a Bears fan I liked Favre until he came back from his 1st retirement. I really can’t stand players pulling this crap. His arrogance holds his former team hostage to satisfying his enormous ego. Don’t retire in the first place if you want to play. I swear I want to strangle ESPN for covering this ad nauseam. Scariest mancrush by a network….ever.

If I was another team, I wouldn’t touch him with a 100 foot poll. Not until he got off the cover of Madden.

Folks in Chicago have a grudging respect for Favre. He owned the Bears, but he was a damn fine quarterback. This past season would have been a great note to leave on, particularly that thrilling game against the Giants in the playoffs. But he is tarnishing his image with his recent behavior.

When did a guy wanting to play football – particularly one that threw for 4,000 and 30 tds last year – become a bad thing? I’m a complete Packer homer, I’ll admit it. I think they need to go with Rogers. But I also think any player ought to have a right to play (and not hold a clipboard) when they’ve given that much to the game and if they’ve still got it. They should trade him for whatever they can get. I don’t buy all this legacy-tarnishing stuff. We shouldn’t work on legacies, they should take care of themselves.

this situation is the packers’ fault. if the packers don’t want favre on the team, release him or trade him. if the packers would rather have rodgers as their starting QB for the 08 season/don’t think favre is good enough to start, release favre or trade him. it’s very simple. why do the packers care where favre goes if they don’t want him in green bay anyway?

  11. TroyJMorris says:

Again, he chose to leave. I’ll give a professional athlete one “Whoops, retiring was s mistake. I fucking love this game. Can I come back?”

But when they do it more than once, forget it. You chose to leave again, Farve. Stop being a baby and go to Canada. Nobody owes you anything now. You could have been a legend in that town. People loved you, but you got a big head and tried to run the team. Pick a side of the sideline and stay there.

    There’s always arena football.
