I’d go with Orton too. Rex is schizo, and I can’t take it anymore. I think 8-8 is optimistic too. I swear, this might be the least talented team at the offensive skill positions I’ve ever seen. It’s pathetic. Bunch of has-been’s and nobody’s at receiver (excluding hester of course), a rookie rb and a bunch of losers taking the snaps.

I just say f**k it. Form a wedge, snap the ball to Hester about 10 yards deep, and let him go.

Rex might be the weirdest professional athlete I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen such a swing from bad to good from week to week. At this point I might take Orton’s lower upside just for the steadier hand. In spite of the great defensive unit and the all-universe return man, that team’s got problems on top of problems. 8-8 with some lucky breaks.

I’d take McNabb in a heartbeat. The fans in Philly and the media ought to lay off that guy……Vince….jury’s still out on him. He needs a little more help on offense before I can make a decision on him. Mike Vick couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, and he was prone to making stupid decisions. If Vick ONLY ran a 4.8 40 yd dash, he would have never been in the NFL.

I never thought I would type these words, but I find myself in agreement with McCann. The mental capacity to run a pro offense (let alone play in one) is consistently underestimated by non-fans ignorant (and the word ignorant here is not a pejorative; I’m using it for its actual meaning) of the sport. It has nothing at all to do with race, as Doug Williams, Donovan McNabb, Mike Vick and Vince Young on their good days, and Daunte Culpepper before injuries cut him down have proven. Seneca Wallace is a solid backup, as was Shaun King before being ousted for reasons unknown to me.

OW denigrates a pair of athletes who have been at times in their careers prima donnas, lazy divas or criminals. That they are black is, I suspect, incidental. Lord knows there are plenty of white athletes that fit that description.

I don’t argue football with amateurs. And Terry Bradshaw, although eccentric, is no dummy. And that team was largely successful because of a ball control offense and a strong running game which was made more effective with the downfield threats they had with guys like Lynn Swann.

Like I said, you, and apparently quaker have little or no knowledge about what really goes on during a single play during a football game. You have no concept of what defensive or offensive schemes teams run against each other in a given situation and why, and until you do, you probably shouldn’t bother trying to argue. You’re just going to look stupid. But if you want to be publicly slaughtered in a football debate on this blog, I’d be glad to wield the axe in this case.

What does intelligence have to do with football? This reads like a survey Rush Limbaugh would use, kind of takes you back to the era when Black football players were considered too “dumb” to play quarterback. And to think, OW denigrates a couple of Black athletes in the process.

I would have thought linebackers would be higher. Some, like Antonio Pierce, no doubt are. Lots to read, think about and react to at that position.

Although on second thought, so many teams are copying the Denver Broncos ‘run-to-daylight’ style now, running backs don’t really need to be the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Doesn’t surprise me in the least that the tackle positions are highest, higher than QB. Does surprise me that RB is lowest on the board. I’d have thought guard or DT. Also would have thought center would be higher.
