We Learned It By Watching You

As Kos and Ezra note, watching conservatives bitch and moan about investment in infrastructure and losing the information war is funny. You would think these guys have been asleep from the early ’90s to now when the right was dominating this game.

  1. I encourage for everyone to sign up over there and give them hell in their comments. Fun stuff!! Take the war to them.

Meh. Not sure why you’d drive traffic to that loser’s site Oliver. Point well made an all, but still. You made his week — he has an excuse to stay in his basement when mom tells him dinner’s ready.

Townhall’s Chuck DeFeo, on stage, rightly calls this out this out as a return to the worst of old media’s Voice of God. Except this time, more overtly in service of a partisan agenda.

But Arianna’s emphasis on defining The Truth underscores a leftist modus operandi: control the information flow. While conservatives scramble to control the downstream opinion flow, Huffington has a larger vision of her media empire as a source of pseudo-objective news. Huffington’s vision is to focus on hard news and investigative journalism with a liberal tilt as a lever for control of The Truth.

The left has long understood that to control the media is to control the first draft of history. But HuffPo is not a mere opinion or activist site. It aims to be The New York Times of tomorrow, with the nutroots, and not mild-mannered red wine sipping liberal editorial page writers, at the helm.

That is rich. Calvin, where did you put that Irony knife?
