“UN ambassador John Bolton discuss how Iran could shoot missiles at the U.S. mainland.”
Maybe they could do it if they had help from Canada. And if we keep losing out on the Stanley Cup, it will happen.
And Saddam can gas us using balsa wood drones.
They seem to be coming even more unhinged. Soon they’ll be cutting to Ahmedinejad – as Brit Hume will assure us – “deep in an underground bunker, somewhere in the mountains of eee-vil…” with the word ‘dramatization’ at the bottom of the screen.
fool me once, see W for the rest.
Did you guys even watch the video? Pretty weak, though up to Oliver’s usual pathetic standards when it comes to things like this. Bolton clearly assumed the guy was talking about military personnel and installations in the Middle East region, so saying that Bolton was seriously discussing missiles hitting the mainland is ridiculous. The anchor, for his part, is certainly less clear. This is what I hear:
“could easily hit Israel and could actually hit, I think, some military installations the United States.” I don’t hear the ‘in’ that Think Progress decided was there. ‘of’ would be the more likely word that the guy was going for, but it’s pretty hard to tell. Even so, given that he mentioned Israel in the same sentence, you’d have to be, well, dishonestly partisan to conclude that he was talking about mainland United States. Dear god, try to have a shred of integrity people.
