No more stupid Right Wing Comments! Say goodbye to Ann Coulter and Michelle Markins! Say Hastra Vista to Rush Limbough!

  2. SaveFarris says:

Calling this line of inquiry “moronic” is odd since you deemed the McCain Born in Panama flap legitimate.

  3. SaveFarris. “legitimate”? Oliver Willis never said that. What he said was, “I don’t think it really amounts to anything.” He said it was of interest. Which it clearly was, since it captured your interest, if not your comprehension.

  4. I'm a Hick says:

You don’t think it’s suspicious he has exactly the same name as the “father?”

  5. My father’s name: Lloyd Oliver Willis Sr.
My name: Lloyd Oliver Willis Jr.

    SOMETHING SINISTER IS AFOOT.

  6. SpiderJ says:

Well, this proves that he is in fact Barack Hussein Obama II.

Look at that Roman numeral. Look at it. Doesn’t it just scream of elitism? Like Thurston Howell III? Or Rocky IV?

  7. I'm a Hick says:

One of my family’s favorite stories is when my older brother and our first cousin tried to go into a bar in Georgetown in 1969. The person at the door asked for ID so they showed her their draft cards. Both had an identical first name, middle initial, last name, and year of birth, so she decided they had to be fake. They argued with her for awhile and then asked to see the manager. She told them she was the manager, and they weren’t getting in.

  8. anotherbozo says:

Good choice, Oliver, however come by. I would NEVER drop in here or give any credence to Lloyd Willis.

What Sav Farris calims: Calling this line of inquiry “moronic” is odd since you deemed the McCain Born in Panama flap legitimate.

What OW actually said: This seems like it may come up as an issue of interest. I don’t think it really amounts to anything

    Or John Sydney McCain IV?

Not dead yet, OW. Let the kerning begin!

  12. JWG says:

SaveFarris’ (legitimate) point was that Oliver deemed McCain’s birthplace to be interesting enough to post a quote about the possible controversy. Yet questions about Obama’s never-released birth certificate are “moronic” even though Obama repeatedly talks about his childhood outside of the United States. This is typical OW hypocrisy.

  13. Duros62 says:

    This is typical OW hypocrisy.

How the fuck do you figure?

John McNovocain WAS born outside the United States (but still a citizen, settle down), Obama was not.

  14. JWG says:

Obama was not [born outside the US]

According to only verbal confirmation up to this point. If no one outside of his family could confirm his place of birth and citizenship, why would the question be moronic for a presidential candidate with a non-citizen father who talks often of his childhood outside of the US and who has never allowed the public to see his birth certificate?
If a republican candidate refused to release his birth certificate, you know Oliver would ask questions.

  15. Tyro says:

If a republican candidate refused to release his birth certificate…

    When has anyone been asked?

For all we know, McCain’s children were born out of wedlock because we have only verbal confirmation about his marriages. How come he hasn’t released his marriage certificates?

Or McCain is a bigamist because all we have is verbal confirmation he divorced his first wife before marrying Cindy. How come he hasn’t released his divorce records?

See how easy this game is?

  16. SpiderJ says:

If no one outside of his family could confirm his place of birth and citizenship, why would the question be moronic for a presidential candidate

Because you would have to be a special kind of moron to run for President in the era of the 24-hour news cycle and the Internet and think that the details of your birth is something that could remain hidden for very long.

If Obama weren’t an American citizen, he wouldn’t have run for President. I know that right wing is pissing its pants with fake fears and tinfoil hat theories about what Obama is going to do when he takes office, but clean yourselves up and think for a half-second, okay?

  17. C.S.Strowbridge says:

“Calling this line of inquiry “moronic” is odd since you deemed the McCain Born in Panama flap legitimate.”

    Umm…

We have proof that McCain was born in Panama. This was pure fantasy.

Whether or not being born in Panama would be enough to stop McCain from being president is an interesting legal discussion, which was non-partisan. This was pure fantasy put forth by lunatics.

  18. JWG says:

How come he hasn’t released his…

Being a natural born citizen is a REQUIREMENT for the presidency. Any other examples that involve non-requirements for the office are worthless and stupid analogies. Releasing a birth certificate should be a no-brainer. Again, if a republican refused to release his/her birth records, Oliver would have a conniption fit wondering what the person was hiding, and you all know it.

We have proof that McCain was born in…

Exactly. We had proof of where the republican was born. Of course you don’t expect proof for claims made by the democrat.

  19. Sean D. Martin says:

Oliver Willis: My father’s name: Lloyd Oliver Willis Sr.

Heh, I *knew* there was some thing LOW about you….

  20. Sean D. Martin says:

CSS: Whether or not being born in Panama would be enough to stop McCain from being president is an interesting legal discussion

Not that interesting, because there really isn’t that much to discuss there. McCain wasn’t only born in Panama, he was also born to two US citizens. That latter being the case, the location of his birth is essentially irrelevant. He’s a natural-born US citizen. Always has been. End of discussion, all 3 seconds of it.

Now, if the discussion was more general. Something like “Is a person born on a US base or in a US Embassy located in a foreign country a natural born US citizen?” we could probably get a few minutes of interesting discussion out of it, although I’m pretty sure these questions have also already been well settled already.

  21. K.L. says:

Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a very simple way to settle this instead of wrangling back and forth about it. Let everyone who has the slightest bit of doubt about this issue, write to their Senator and demand a Senate investigation into it, the same as Senator McCain went through (and was vetted).

This is not persecutory, it is not about whether he is black or white, right, center or left, Muslim or Christian. It is about a very basic and very important Constitutional issue regarding eligibility that can ONLY be settled by the Senate. Not by the media, not by the bloggers and certainly not by you or I arguing about it.

This issue fundamentally affects ALL AMERICANS across the board. Our country cannot take another huge fiasco like this right now. Not with all the other issues the USA is having to presently contend with. The potential scenarios are chilling if he gets elected and it turns out that he was not eligible. What Chaos! I for one do not want to go there.

It is my right and your’s as citizens, to demand this of our Senate. This issue needs to be definitively settled before the upcoming DNC convention in August and most certainly before the election!!! Obama needs to be officially vetted.

So get off the blogs, look up your Senators and write your letter as a concerned citizen, if indeed you have doubts at all! Do it today. I have serious doubts. I have already written. Post this on other blogs too. We are running out of time. I want real answers………do you?

There is enough smoke here to think that there may also be fire. I could not in good conscience vote for Obama now until the Senate has vetted him.
