Message Control Issues

Clearly the Clinton folks are having a hard time getting their message straight today. Despite the wailing of the diehards, the AP is not the sort of organization that makes up a news story like that. People on the Clinton campaign told them it was going to be over today, and others have pushed back on the story. We’ve heard for months now about the various warring camps and factions in their campaign (and McCain’s). It’s just being very exposed today.

    Typo?

“People on the Obama campaign told them it was going to be over today, and others have pushed back on the story.”

Did you mean, “People on the Clinton campaign…”?

The meltdown over at TalkLeft after tonight is not going to be pretty. Clearly Jeralyn is wanting Clinton to dig her heels in and keep fighting her hopeless battle. And, par for the course, the Clinton campaign is doing their best to fan those flames. Hillary has put herself in quite the corner by continuing to whip her supporters into this frenzy. At this point I suppose the only strategy left for her is to blackmail her way onto the ticket as VP. Otherwise anything less than an Obama win in November will be pinned right on her and Bill.

Hillary Clinton told colleagues Tuesday she would be consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate.

On a conference call with other New York lawmakers, Clinton, a New York senator, said she was willing to become Obama’s vice presidential nominee if it would help Democrats win the White House, according to a participant who spoke on condition of anonymity because this person was not authorized to speak for Clinton.

    She’s willing. Hooray.

  4. Quaker: My bad, fixed.

Watching frothing Hillary supporters as they have to finally admit that the black guy won over the “inevitable” Hillary: Priceless

In short, don’t look for Jeralyn and Big Douche Democrat to be uttering this sentence: “I for one welcome our Obama overlords.”

Duros62: I hope your “hooray” is thickly laced with irony.

I honestly don’t know what Obama is going to do with that offer, and I absolutely can’t second-guess him. His, and his team’s, political smarts AND integrity are second to none. Of course I’d love him to tell her to shove it. But I know he’s much cooler an intellect than I am, infinitely smarter politically, and I can only watch dumbly on the sidelines to see what he does.

Would she really help the ticket? Or alienate countless young voters who sniffed in him a real Difference? Not to mention the Indy Hillary-haters who would be energized.

I do think it’s a good bet that she’ll twist slowly, slowly in the wind until he deems it fit to announce someone.

Hillary Clinton told colleagues Tuesday she would be consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate.

Obama replied that he appreciated the offer but that as Hillary had not yet passed “the threshold” he couldn’t see taking her up on it.

  8. Sean D. Martin says:

And.. “would be consider” ??? When did HRC start talking in Ebonics?

Oh yes, thickly. Like maple syrup.

Does anyone know, has Obama made such an offer?
