Clinton’s Speech

Not finished yet, but it’s a mess. Like, couldn’t she be more graceful?

“We stayed the course”? Really, Hillary? We kind of went down that path before.

This speech just went on and on, and the crowd was right out of the Roman Coliseum with their “Denver” nonsense.

Please end this so our next president can come on and speak to us.

What is her problem? Is she just incapable of thinking of the good of the party as separate from her? What does she have to gain?

  2. durablend says:

    “No decisions tonight”

    She’s not going anywhere kids…

She’s not going to continue. Her staffers are only being paid thru mid-June, operations are winding down. For a self-absorbed prick like her, that speech *was* a *generous* concession, even if she didn’t concede yet. Now she needs to decide if she will keep screwing the party by insisting to be veep on the ticket. When she realizes she that even she can’t trade the veep slot for her endorsement, she’ll do a proper concession. But she’ll still fight for veep behind the scenes.

  4. C.S.Strowbridge says:

If she doesn’t fight hard for Obama, she will destroy the party and she will go down with the ship. She won’t save it in 2012, her political career will be over and no other woman will get a shot at the president for at least a generation.

  5. You know, despite what an asshat he can be, Andrew Sullivan was right about her(other than calling her a psychopath). He has been saying that she won’t go away easy. That she is self absorbed and it is all about her.

  6. Robster says:

I hope that any offer made to pay off her campaign debts is tied into how much effort she puts into campaigning for Barack Obama, and I mean she better campaign harder for him than she did for herself.

It’s only right if she wants progressive welfare.

    Oh, snap!!!!!!!

  8. anotherbozo says:

Kind of a relief that her egocentrism makes it just about impossible for the Obama people to seriously consider her as veep material. Wags on MSNBC pointed out that if you want to be considered for the #2 spot, you (1) concede, (2)throw your unconditional support behind the winner. She did neither, only say she was “open” to the idea of veep. Bah, humbug. As Joshua Marshall (?) said, he’s likewise “open” to the idea of playing third base for the Detroit Tigers.

This could get ugly. Hard to assess yet how much damage she’s done the party, much less how much she could still do.

  9. Scott Erb says:

I think she needs to control the emotions of her supporters, and that required starting to turn down the heat last night. She did the opposite. I hope she’s doing a lot of reflecting today:
