Watch Out, Johnny Mac

This is a good overview story from the AP about how the Obama campaign studied the nomination process and strategized their way to the nomination versus the sort of brute force strategy the Clinton camp tried. In some ways it looks like the more strategic approach Bush took versus Kerry in 2004. So far the McCain camp seems to think that it is still 2004 and that they can win using the same attacks Sen. Clinton did (they’re almost line for line identical).

This will not work.

I wonder if hillary was shocked that a black man could be smart, sure seems like he was ‘misunderestimated’. LOL

Attributing his success only to soaring speeches and prodigious fundraising ignores a critical part of contest.

Indeed. First Lady for eight years does not automatically bestow extensive experience. And he doesn’t only have a pretty speech from 2004.

Gotta say, I really like this part.

Under Democratic rules, congressional districts with a history of strong support for Democratic candidates are rewarded with more delegates than districts that are more Republican. Some districts packed with Democratic voters can have as many as eight or nine delegates up for grabs, while more Republican districts in the same state have three or four.

The system is designed to benefit candidates who do well among loyal Democratic constituencies, and none is more loyal than black voters. Obama, who would be the first black candidate nominated by a major political party, has been winning 80 percent to 90 percent of the black vote in most primaries, according to exit polls.

I can easily imagine some of the folks who set this system up thinking, “Well, we didn’t mean for it to work quite THAT way…”

You know what is even funnier. T-Mac and Harold Ickes should know that rule like the back of their hand(And for all I know, the rule might have been there when Bill ran). What does that tell you about her campaign?

Pretty much what it’s been telling me for several months now: As these people are not capable of planning and running a decent campaign they certainly should not be put in a position to attempt to run the country.
