On reflection, I’d be willing to bet that any white person using the n-word, in print, in 2008 is just desperate for cheap attention.

Reminds me: what I’m interested in is discussion of the “post-racial” generation. Not mentioned much post-Reverend-Wright, understandably. Googling just got me an old New Yorker article. Yet it’s out there, and some of you are IN it. On the high end is Barack himself and his early enthusiasts; on the low end the “Harold and Kumar” series. This is the generation that didn’t get the racist memo–too busy playing video games or something.

It’s a genuinely exciting development, for this weary country at least. Anybody got any discussion anywhere?
