Michael Steele Still Licking Bush’s Boots
Tweet
He won’t fade away.
Today, Bush named Steele as part of a seven-member delegation heading to Tanzania next month to participate in a summit on economic and social development in Africa, the Leon H. Sullivan Summit VIII. Leading the delegation will be Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne. Read past the jump to see the other members of the delegation.
Steele recently told a Maryland political blog that he’s interested in running for governor in 2010, if former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. decides against a rematch with Democratic incumbent Martin O’Malley.
Michael Steele running for public office on his own in Maryland again – something he has never succeeded at and in fact lost by double digits?
Please God, yes.

Steele: the puppy who took a huge, runny dump on the carpet in the foyer of the Governor’s Mansion – right next to the steaming pile left behind by Massa Ehrlich. Both are more-or-less permanently unelectable now.
Let’s hope. O’Malley isn’t that fantastic in my book, and not seeming to be too popular, but Steele would be an ideal opponent to assure he keeps his office.
Maybe he can get Mudbone to an advisor.
I agree w/ you Oliver and Snabby… Please let Steele run for governor… it will be hilarious, and a political bloodbath. O’Malley’s current weaknesses will magically disappear in comparison.
Only one better would be if Alan Keyes came back to Maryland to run for Governor… now THAT would be hilarious.
What about Shelby Steele? Remember that doofus saying that Hillary Clinton is more black than Obama?
It’s interesting to compare Steele to Obama in that both are biracial men with white mothers and black fathers. Shelby Steele words make me wonder if he is not envious of Obama’s success in defining himself as “black man” in the context of America while accepting his biracial identity but also being able to successfully navigate the social and political waters to a success that Steele has never found himself.
Shelby Steele found a micro island of success that is built upon his fealty to the Right and anti-black propaganda that is only a few notches below his fellow traveler Dinesh D’Souza. Like Steele, D’Souza has made a career of being a brown face to lob dirt at African-Americans.
does anyone have an e-mail for mike steele?
