Nope. Absolutely not true. McCain said he didn’t agree with Hagee’s views regarding the Catholic church but he did not reject Hagee’s endorsement, denounce Hagee, or distance himself in any way.

Absolutely. Wright is a veteran who worked for decades on improving civil rights and who helped grow one of the more respected churches in Chicago. Hagee is an ignorant bigot who preaches hate.

It is one thing to be endorsed by someone and not know their views, it is another to be endorsed by someone for whom you know their views and yet still embrace them as a supporter.

It is one thing to know what you are talking about, it is another thing to be you and parade your stupidity.

Hagee’s views were and are made readily available to people who don’t attend his church or know him well (i.e. his books, his televised sermons, his media appearances, etc.).

He only “distanced himself” from Hagee after these Holocaust comments were made public. McCain did not “distance himself” from Hagee even after his anti-Catholic “the planned gay pride parade in New Orleans caused Hurricane Katrina” comments came to light.
