I’m a strange Muslim in that I like seeing White American start talking about Islam - what they say is unimportant to me, but I like seeing Islam mentioned millions of times each and every day - how else do you think Islam spreads?

JWG, Since when is “Booogedy boogedy” a racial slur? I’ve always heard this term when talking of general fearmongering. Like, “boogedy boogedy there’s a monster under your bed!”

The point wasn’t that Schlussel et al were throwing racial terms but trying to strike fear into people about Obama. Interesting you went straight to race. Perhaps you were thinking of the racial terms the reich-wingers have taught the public to associate Obama with, like “jigaboo.”

The only reason race is brought up is to couple it with fear. They are not a package deal until the Republicans make it so, which they’ve been doing a lot.

I’m sure that Oliver defends himself more honestly than Schussel did here. At least she could have mentioned her omission in her blog post that Oliver linked to that she didn’t note that President Bush and the pope have had contacts with Qazwini in the past. Why is this omission worth mentioning? Because it gives people who don’t know of the latter contacts the clear impression that only Obama has met with this supposedly heinous individual.
