Excuse me, while I write a paper on Quantum Physics (I love Scott Bakula).
Since when do psychiatrists know about DNA? Even geneticists are admittedly in the dark.
And when did we arrive with this romantic notion that all the immigrants “braved the open seas?”
Just as many USers braved the plains Westward for a variety of reasons, so did our earliest immigrants. Bullheaded acceptance of propangandized get rich quick schemes are probably the foremost reason. Hell, many folks honestly thought the streets here were made of gold. Don’t believe me? Read Kafka. He’s a decent indicator to what Eastern European belief in America was.
That’s not to mention those who fled for their lives of persecution or crime or starvation. To say that those folks who did leave were among the strongest of their ‘race’ is preposterous. Hell, millions of refuges attempt to cross national lines every year– much more than the proposed 2%. There success is more bent on immigration policies.
Take note that when walls (physical and metaphorical) are torn down, the flux in population is amplified. You can’t propose a theory and just spin off anecdotes to prove your theory. That’s what college seminars on Nietzsche are for.
