Why Instapundit Doesn’t Push His Own Opinion Much

Because they usually come across as stupid as this claim that Bernie Ward’s trial for child pornography would be bigger news if he were a Republican. Of course, if Ward were a Republican he wouldn’t be a local talk host but a national host on thousands of stations. The reason why Rush Limbaugh’s illegal pill popping was such news is that he’s on the airwaves everywhere. Until very very recently liberal radio hosts were blocked from even the potential of such access.
It’s stupid proclamations like this why Glenn Reynolds mostly foists on us the opinions of others and is too much of a coward to say what he believes.

I know, I mean the way the news railed on Limbaugh for weeks on end and demanded criminal investigations into why he was a prior drug offender caught with an illegal unprescribed bottle of Viagra on a trip to the child prostitution capital of the Western hemisphere…. oh, right.
What did Limbaugh, an unmarried man, need Viagra for in the child prostitution capital of the Western Hemisphere? It’s not like there was anyone for him to have sex with, since he was traveling alone.
Ward, 57, a former Roman Catholic priest, …
Well, there’s yer problem.
Here I sit, chuckling at the notion that Rush Limbaugh’s drug issues weren’t big news, nor was his being detained at the airport with the Viagra. You guys must be smoking too much weed because your memories are shot. It happened nearly two years ago and there’s still a ton of online stories to read about it. Cripes.
Until very very recently liberal radio hosts were blocked from even the potential of such access.
I know this is a little off topic, but get over yourself. Oliver, liberal talk radio wasn’t blocked. Liberal talk radio didn’t make it because it SUCKED ASS. It’s a ratings game, nothing more. Air America was going to change all that and show the country how it could compete, remember? Right. It’s a joke. And why? Because it sucks.
Yes indeed. Elliot Spitzer sure was lucky he was a Democrat otherwise news of his sexual escapades wouldn’t have been limited to the local press in ALbany, New York. If he were a Republican it would have been a big news event covered by all the cable channels 24/7. Yeah he’s lucky he’s a dem.
Air America does suck, but liberal talk existed before AA and got ratings regionally but wasn’t picked up by the Clear Channels and Premieres of the world in the way that third and fourth tier con talkers are on a regular basis.
“…there’s still a ton of online news stories to read about it.”
Got any examples of this? I seriously doubt there’s a “ton of online news stories to read about” hte legal problems of Limbaugh that you (Jay) mentioned unless there have been some new developments.
correction: “hte” should have been “the”

Any links, cites or facts to back up this assertion, or does this fall under the category of “Things-that-exist-only-in-Oliver’s-head-but-that-he-wishes-were-true”?
Funny, Dave in SoCal doesn’t ask Jay for any “links, cites or facts” to “back up his assertion” that “there’s still a ton of online news stories to read about” Rush Limbaugh’s legal issues surrounding his past drug problems.
