In essence, Rumsfeld was covering his rear. He was setting up his chain of denials should his actions ever be questioned. And worse yet, in my mind, he was attempting to level all the blame on his generals.

“Big Media Finally Writes About What Black Folk Will Do If Clinton Steals The Nomination”
Yet isn’t it still just about statistically impossible? I keep flashing on “Weekend at Bernie’s,” in which the corpse is Hillary and the ones schlepping her around are the MSM. They have as big a stake as anyone in keeping this farce going. Yet Obama gets more superdelegates every day.
“Well, my name is still on the marquee, asshole.”
I always thought it kind of funny that Colmes is lit so darkly. Funny as in pathetic.
Yet isn’t it still just about statistically impossible?
No.
The Florida/Michigan issue may yet change. If the DNC sticks to its guns and does not seat these two state delegations at the convention, then you’re right–the numbers are strongly in Obama’s favor.
However, that’s not yet a sure thing.
It’s not the DNC that makes that decision at the convention. The Credentials Committee makes its report- which then goes to a vote of the delegates. Minus Michigan and Florida at that point in the game, of course.
First there’s the fact that under the rules for appointments to the credentials committee, the allocations of seats to the campaigns will finally closely track the pledged-delegate count. We all know who’ll be ahead there.
Next, if her people are able get a minority report that favors her interests submitted, it goes to a vote of all the delegates- minus MI and FL as noted above. She could only get enough votes to approve the minority report if the supers had broken strongly enough for her to give her the votes to get nominated anyway.
So the whole exercise is basically irrelevant. Hillary can only have the votes to seat MI and FL as-is if she already has the votes to get nominated without them. Which she won’t.
MI and FL are simply a talking point, like almost everything she says.
That should have been “fairly closely tracks”, sorry.
It isn’t ‘statistically’ impossible for Hillary to ‘win’ with SD’s. It’s just an extremely unlikely thing to happen. Obama can lose most of the remaining Super-delegates and still walk away with the election. Splitting them roughly in half won’t make much of a difference.
And yeah, the arrogance of some of my fellow white people is just bizarre. They really do seem to think black folks are just going to vote Democratic no matter what, even if Obama plays by all the rules, wins, and then has it stolen from them by a white elite. I really thought so-called ‘progressives’ were better than that. But they apparently think Black votes should be given to them even if they refuse to nominate a black candidate that wins.
And the girl in the background of that car photo really should have been it’s primary subject. She blows the other girl away in hotness.
Someone really needs to put the “electability” bullshit to bed, too.
