I think Obama's $1000 permanent tax break for the middle class is a whole lot better idea than saving .18 cents for 3 months.
He rocked it on Russet today.

Wellstone: I think it’s GREAT Politics

Unfortunately, great politics is not at all the same as great government or great leadership.

Wellstone: Hillary done herself and the Democratic Party proud, while Obama is looking like an out-of-touch College professor REAL good at speechifyin’ but short on real-world down-home help where people live,

A temporary and almost unnoticeable change in the cost of gas is not going to provide any real-world down-home help where people live. That is going to take a long-term change in our energy policy.

But that just doesn't sound as good or as easy, does it? No, far better to show them down-home folks some flash and a pony show.

Seriously, Wellstone. Is that what you really want in the next president?

Even if this isn't it, is there any topic on which you don't fall absolutely 100% in line behind Hillary and regurgitate her view? Any issue at all where you say "Well, I agree with you on most things but I don't think you're quite on target on this one."? Because those who are always 100% in agreement with everything someone else says? Clearly drunk on the Kool aid and have given up all right to call them selves a thinking person.

When the experts are saying the gas tax holiday is a political ploy and the politicians are saying it's good for the country, WHO ARE YOU GOING TO BELIEVE?

Sounds reminiscent of the scientists saying something about global warming being real and our Prezinint saying it just aint so.

I think it's GREAT Politics by Hillary.

As the poster above says, it really put a lot of heat on McCain: The President and the GOP leaders will be forced to shut out their nominee and leave him looking like a fool holding the bag.

Of course, the rest of the sissies in Congress don't care or have no idea how great an issue this would be for the Democrats actually on the ground running for office. They just wnat to play it safe and not be controversial.

Hillary done herself and the Democratic Party proud, while Obama is looking like an out-of-touch College professor REAL good at speechifyin' but short on real-world down-home help where people live, she has beaten McCain and the GOP at their own game.

"I told him that the speaker of the house said that wasn’t going to pass congress anyway"

Exactly...anything mentioning a windfall profits tax isn't going anywhere with a Republican congress, let alone get by Bush's desk.

Some democrats are falling for the gas tax holiday in North Carolina.

I went canvassing in a mostly African American neighborhood, where many people weren't actually planning to vote.

Some said well, I was for Obama until he was against that oil company thing, about gas prices. Turned out he meant the Summer Gas Tax Holiday.

I told him that the speaker of the house said that wasn't going to pass congress anyway, and his eyes lit up and he asked for the Obama literature.

The point is, Hillary reaches the people who are less informed, who probably don't have the internet, but still vote. Her tough talk plus her name recognition plus some people think they are re-electing Bill Clinton helps her. Less informed people respond to her spin. They may have a neighbor who has influenced them.

Obama needs more people to get out and canvass tomorrow and up till Tuesday (our final election day). We have early voting Saturday and voters can register to vote then.

I think the Clinton's have always made it clear that they care more about being popular than they could ever care about the future of our country.

Has anyone found anyone (beside McNovocain) who thinks this is a good idea? I heard a truck driver from Michigan on NPR this morning who thinks it's stupid.
