If John Kerry had said this in 2004 we would be discussing his re-election now. But I’m glad he said it on MSNBC today.

ah, what coulda, shoulda, woulda been had Kerry done some things differently in 2004..
I really admired Kerry in 2004 and I admire him now. I don’t understand why he wasn’t elected. Perhaps I’m out of touch.
He wasn’t elected for several reasons, none of which had to do with his qualities as a candidate.
1. His campaign was full of outdated, expensive Dem consultants who all gave him the wrong advice at the wrong time.
2. As a result, his campaign was consistently late in identifying opportunities and threats, and worse at identifying and implementing the correct strategies and tactics to capitalize on opportunities and neutralize threats.
3. He was unable to overcome the massive dollar advantage of the GOP machine in time to avoid being “defined” in early 2004. He DID somehow manage to pull even in the money race and polls by early August, but fell apart in September when the GOP Convention selected GW Bush and the SwiftBoat and other smears moved into high gear.
’stone, this reminds me of something, but i can’t quite place it…
