Won’t even happen. Democrats haven’t the spine for it. Republicans would block it at every step because rather than ever condemn actual crimes they always chose to cover them up. Pragmatically it isn’t a good activity for the country.

But mostly, Bush will make sure everyone will be pardoned before he leaves office.

after a quickie media makeover and a few appearances of The Daily Show, george w. could actually be palatable to the american public depending on world events, etc. you have to remember, almost 50% of the nation actually pressed the voting button for this dude. there’s an audience somewhere that will pay top money to hear him blab his mouth.

by 2020, george w. bush should be worth at least $250 million if you extrapolate what the clintons have accomplished, and factor for inflation.

being president is worth big bucks now, even for chimpy. there will be aircraft carriers and buildings named in his honor…he isn’t going away any time soon. like his father, i expect his approval ratings to steadily improve once he steps down in 2009.

bill clinton made $100 million in 7 years just for being a former president. yes, he was effective and well liked, but at least 40% of the nation had a very high dislike for ’slick willy’ brand name.

perhaps the only thing that may stop george w. bush from making millions would be if/when a full investigation of his presidency determined (and CONVICTED) on corruption, cover-up, whatever.

even then, a book deal from jail would garner a phat book contract.

my question is…how will this $5 million dollar loan get paid back?

will donors who give during the general election (assuming clinton gets the nomination) be told that x% of your donation will be forwarded to help the clintons regain their lost millions?

with this much money (perhaps as much as 10-15% of the entire clinton net worth at stake, no wonder bill clinton is going haywire and saying all kinds of weird stuff, like comparing the obama victory in south carolina to the jesse jackson victory of that same state in ‘88.

the clintons obviously want to get back into the white house real bad…for the obvious reasons…MONEY.

if hilary gets to be president, she will have her own swipe at hundreds of millions (if not several BILLIONS) of post-presidential appearance & book advance money. we’re talking about a couple who could be worth BILLIONS by the time they hang it up…IF HILARY CAN WIN IN 2008 or 2012!~

this whole real life big post presidential money bonanza will also play out with the bush clan starting in 2009. george w. bush is young enough to be the ultra-conservative version of centrist bill clinton during the next few decades.
