What was that about keeping your house in order? Looks like Sen. McCain has an Arizona problem.

A week ago, Republican activists living in the same state legislative district as McCain rejected nearly all the names his campaign submitted as candidates to become delegates to the party’s state convention on May 10.

Yeah, arch-conservatives dislike him, progressives think he’s a joke (mortgage meltdown? less government regulation is the answer!), but explain the polls. Latest has him winning in a race against Obama, Obama the single best candidate in my lifetime, this at a time when McSame embraces the Iraq carnage and the 27% president.

    I don’t understand my people.

Living in Arizona and I am constantly amazed at how many conservatives really and truly dislike him as a person (not just as a politician.)

I could never vote for him due to the policies he advocates, but I think I like him as a person much more than many of the Republicans I meet.

Related: the Democratic Party should really make it painfully clear that McCain did not support the new GI Bill that was sponsored by two Vietnam Veteran Senators from both sides.

I’m sure it’s on the short list of To-Do’s.
