And Glenn Reynolds loves him for it (like a moth to a flame, brothers in arms). This is what a small yet vocal sector of the liberal blogosphere has turned into. Nice.
UPDATE: Reynolds links, ignores (of course) my criticism of him and implies that the entire liberal blogosphere has been like this. He, as usual, doesn’t have the guts to explicitly say that. He never does.

Larry Johnson
ODS Watch: Larry Johnson
Sometimes you’re almost as bad, OW. I used to laugh at the thought of the NVAs best aviator being President, but now I’m not so sure. I think he might actually win the spite vote. Obama supporters voting for McCain because of Larry and Talk Left, Clinton supporters voting the same way because of you and others.
I’m not there yet, but it’s getting close.
(not really)
NoQuarter used to be a daily stop, as were about a half dozen others that have become insufferable. In a matter of months they went from great posting with good content to being little more than left wing versions of Free Republic or LittleGreenFootballs. I had hoped our side of the fence could stay above that level.
I guess if you define “douchebag” as someone who speaks inconvenient truths.
Obama’s supporter’s racism coupled with America’s deep seeded misogyny assures a GOP victory in November – again.
We Democrats have become a joke.
NIce comment on your post by the ole professor too…what a dickhead that guy is.
Oh, and I think most democrats will probably just vote against McCain no matter who they wanted in the primary, but still the foot-stomping and pouting is entertaining.
Pretty classy….just like the Rev. Wright.
Funny how things change. When Larry Johnson was bellowing about the President with regard to Valerie Plame and spouting crackpot theories about the war, he was a great guy, speaking truth to power baby!
Now that he’s not bowing at the altar of Barack Obama, he’s a douchebag.
Another race based initiative by the Clintonistas
I didn’t know Lloyd Christmas had a blog. I thought he was a fictional character.
Aren’t you guys always happy when a “progressive” viciously trashes Hillary Clinton and is linked to by Mr “Bell Curve” Andrew Sullivan?
I have been wondering about this fratricidal attitude the left has adopted.
“Sometimes you’re almost as bad, OW.”
I tend to disagree, while OW is a vociferous Obama supporter, I have no doubt that he would without hesitation pull the trigger for Hillary should she somehow actually overtake Obama and become the nominee. (Feel free to correct me if I am wrong Oliver).
I also have been leaning toward Obama, yet would not hesitate to vote for Hillary and would in fact be proud to pull that lever for the first candidate for president that happens to be a woman.
I have not been to No Quarter for quite some time and as I did not wish to give InstiTard a hit, went there directly and was appalled.
The main difference between OW and say NQ or Taylor Marsh, Talk Left among other Hillary supporting blogs is that Oliver does not use rightwing “stalking points” to attack Hillary, whereas Johnson, et, al, are happy to do so.
There is in my mind a huge difference between pointing out the “wisdom” of sitting down with Richard Mellon Scaife (one of the main architects of the VRWC) and the suggestion that Obama is or might be a Muslim, and is interested in voter disenfranchisement, or suggesting that the color of his skim makes him unelectable.
The latter are all republican frames (I mean come the F’ on that is just being lazy) the former demonstrating in my opinion a demonstration of lack of judgement that was ultimately what got me to step on the Obama side of the fence.
That said, when November rolls around I will happily support the nominee for the Democratic party without holding my nose, which I doubt can be said of Jeralyn, or Johnson. I actually doubt that they will cross over to McCain, but they have demonstrated that it is quite likely that they won’t be pleased if they have to vote for Obama.

“Glenn Reynolds loves him for it.”
What leads you to that conclusion?
Here are the actual words that Reynolds wrote: “BLUE-ON-BLUE: Over at Larry Johnson’s No Quarter blog they’re still hammering Obama and Jeremiah Wright. They’re getting so much traffic they were knocked off line for a while today. Some of the comments are kind of ugly.”
Where in these three sentences do you see a declaration of love? I can find no indication of even the faintest approval. The first two sentences are straightforward statements of objective fact, and the third expresses mild DISapproval.
Harry, don’t waste your time. Unless Reynolds links to something and explicitly says, “I f**king hate what I am linking to”, people like Oliver claim he is linking “approvingly.” It’s the most ridiculous accusation I have ever seen on Gore’s interwebs, but it is one that liberal bloggers like Oliver have been using for quite some time now.
It’s along the lines of their other favorite accusation. The “If you don’t denounce it, then you agree with it” tactic. That’s a steaming pile as well but it doesn’t matter.
Reynolds links to memes he wants to push. He only usually links to progressive blogs when they dont agree with somehting a progressive has said. He links to right-wing attacks on people rather than write up his own thoughts of it.
Real pundits, opinion columnists, bloggers and the like – both left and right – tend to have the guts to put up an opinion under their name. Reynolds rarely does and he cannot handle the criticism when he does. So he outsources.
I stopped reading No Quarter when the site just started Parroting the Lies Hillary says about Sen. Obama and his Campaign. Peace.
Heh. Indeed.
“Real pundits, opinion columnists, bloggers and the like – both left and right – tend to have the guts to put up an opinion under their name. Reynolds rarely does and he cannot handle the criticism when he does. So he outsources.”
You mean real pundits like you? Sheesh you’re a whiner.
“Reynolds links to memes he wants to push.”
Yes. So do you. So does every other blogger in the world. The whole POINT of linking to something is to call attention to it. Why on earth would you link to something you DON’T want people to read?
“He only usually links to progressive blogs when they dont agree with somehting a progressive has said.”
Which would be 100% of the time. Progressives are not a Borg collective. No matter what a progressive says, there is another progressive somewhere who disagrees with it. (The same is true of non-progressives. It’s a universal human quality.)
“Real pundits, opinion columnists, bloggers and the like – both left and right – tend to have the guts to put up an opinion under their name.”
It is not at all clear to me why YOU get to define which pundits, opinion columnists, and bloggers are “real” and which ones are not. I find your definition silly.
“Reynolds rarely does and he cannot handle the criticism when he does.”
I see no evidence that Reynolds “cannot handle” your criticism. He seems quite unconcerned by it. And, really, why would he be?
