ONE of the main reasons for Romney - Shoring up McCain's economic problem.

The other one relates to an item that has been perculating out there - where are all the GOP Donors. They are pressuring McCain that they won't give to him until he puts Romney on the ticket.

Don't believe me? There was a meeting in Utah over a year ago of the big money folks in the GOP, and Dick Cheney attended. Who was the ONLY GOP candidate invited to attend - Mitt Romney.

As I said before, if I needed a reason not to trust him EVER - it's because of that.

And, if I were McCain, I'd sleep with one eye open the moment I chose Romney.

I don't think Romney brings anything electorally. I think he only brings money.

I don't remember who said this, but it was a GOP Commentator who said that Romney still had problems with the Evangelical Base because he was a Mormon, and that hadn't changed. So, considering you hear the rattling from Dobson, maybe this is why. He 'heard' something about Romney, and he's trying to say ' hell-to-the-naw' about Romney.

The one good thing about Romney being chosen - it will take Jeremiah Wright off the table as a weapon against Obama.

That 15-30% are less likely to follow through the more they get to see of John McCain. Ironically, the more of the Republicanic base that sees John McCain, the more of them seem to be willing to stay at home sitting on their hands, asking themselves how they could have been so very, very wrong about that nice George W. Bush fellow.

the polls say that 15-30% of each candidate’s base would rather jump ship and vote McCain if they’re candidate doesn’t get the nomination for the Democratics

Riddle me this, Mr. Public Opinion: What percentage of the GOP base is still calling your man "Juan McCain"?

Please, no. I might have to donate to their campaign so Mike can make more videos.

You did. But Kuchinich only pulled about 1%: not enough votes to waste a Veep slot trying to cater to.

Make jokes all you want, but the polls say that 15-30% of each candidate's base would rather jump ship and vote McCain if they're candidate doesn't get the nomination for the Democratics. If even half of those folks actually go through with it, that's enough to sway the election.

Too bad we Dems don't have a "little man" in the race. Then Farris could suggest the Reepub lickians could get one even stumpier.

To be fair, we're also not huge fans of John McCain! But we take what we can get when the alternatives are the Hill-dabeast and Mr. Neophyte.

"Today’s idea is for Mitt Romney to run as McCain’s running mate. "

Oh please, oh please, oh please.

Enlightened Liberal: "Yes, because if there is one thing Republicans have proven is that their voters will totally vote for a black guy. Just look at all those black Republicans in office!"

They are not huge fans of Liddy Dole either.

I don't see McCain-Romney either. Supposedly McCain(along with all the other now-dropped out candidates) hate Romney's guts. The only thing I can think of is that McCain would only pick him so that Romney won't run again in 4 years and also to make Romney spend more of Tagg's inheritance(since McCain's fund raising sucks).

I think McCain is gonna wait until Democratics finish their civil war, then pick a running mate that capitalizes on the jilted party (someone like J.C. Watts or Michael Steele if Hillary gets the nom, a Liddy Dole or Kay Bailey Hutchison-type if Obama gets it).
