Ron Paul will run as an independent, and he could earn enough votes to screw over McCain. It's almost worth donating money to his cause if he tries.

No, Duros62, as Yogi said, "It ain't over until its over". While we wait around for a few more months awaiting McCain to shoot himself in his foot once again, Ron Paul will be more and more appreciated -- you know, what with the war and the economy going south McCain will look less and less attractive. At least Obama now sees what Paul has seen: the war and the economy are linked. If Paul weren't running, I'd vote for Obama, but the best I can do now is to vote for Paul and deprive McCain of at least one vote (assuming the voting machine records it). I live in Pennsylvania, and the Republican Party "leadership" (whose main job seems to be to stifle Ron Paul supporters) are now worried about the loss of Registered Republicans going over to the Democrats -- but the funny thing is that they seem a bit consoled by seeing some Democrats coming over to the Republican Party. Not too bright, they haven't thought that a number of Democrats registered Republican in order to be able to vote for Paul in the April 22 primary. Three of them are in my own family. Yes, Paul might not "win" -- but better to lose in a good cause than "win" with a loser like McCain.
