Here’s a simple rule: NO FUNDRAISING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY. Be you British (McCain), Chinese (Clinton/Gore) or any other country.

  2. midderpidge says:

    You left out Taiwan/W Bush.

  3. Sean D. Martin says:

I always thought a simple rule would be: No fundraising except from individuals you would represent if elected. Restrict Representatives to residents of their districts, Senators to residents of their states.

  4. Big Tex says:

Wow. I would have thought that something like this would be illegal. Even if it’s not, it would seem (to me at least) like a violation of the spirit of the law.

  5. Even though it is a short blurb, it does say that only Americans are invited to the campaign event. While I am very much not a supporter of McCain, I can see nothing wrong with this. Americans overseas have a stake in the election, and a right to contribute. If this helps turn out more funding for McCain with a personal appearance, well that’s fine.

I wouldn’t get all upset if HRC or Obama were to go to Franfurt and hold an event off-base, there are many Americans that live there.

  6. duros62 says:

McCain does know they can’t for him, right?

  7. duros62 says:

    *vote* for him

    The I say this.

McCain’s Taxpayer Funded Campaign Stop in Iraq

He does know they can’t vote for him, right?
