This was in my top four Republican takeover targets in 2008. Landrieu in Louisiana was number one. Others were Lautenberg in New Jersey due to age and Johnson in South Dakota due to health.
Number five was… I didn’t have a number five. I didn’t think it was necessary to rank beyond those four.
The Republicans could spend millions trying to unseat Landrieu to avoid another sweep in the Senate. I hope they do, because that would force them to spend less in places like Colorado, Minnesota, Maine, Oregon, etc.
