After all the venal, obsessively power grabbing crap she’s pulled – how could he choose her?
Hillary as a leading veep candidate for Barack? That would alienate all the same people who hate the hell out of hillary already. It’s a worst of all worlds approach. I hope you were kidding…
That’s how it’s done.
Hillary Clinton would be on the short list, a list that could include John Edwards, Wes Clark, Bill Richardson, and others.
Not sure who would help the Democrats the most, but I don’t think it would be Hillary Clinton.
Of that list, I would guess Richardson. Two of Obama’s discussed weaknesses are foreign policy and the Latino vote. Richardson fills both needs, plus he stealthily sneaks past the disconnected, uninformed voters who wouldn’t vote for a more recognizably Latino name like “Hernandez”.
Can you just imagine the horror…the horror, if anyone assiciated with the Clinton camp made that “back of the bus” comment?
I find it interested that kelly Ann Conway used the same line on CNN this weekend.
Funny how mwnt progressive Dems these days are parrotting the right wing these days.

I agree. I think he should make Edwards the head of a new cabinet position to combat poverty. Republicans would hate that, but the normal people would love it.
No way Hillary winds up as veep. While Obama could conceivably take the position (not that he should) and have a credible shot at the top slot in the future, Hillary has but one opening and this is it. They know it over at camp Hillary and I think that this awareness plays a large part in the “kitchen sink” strategy.
I hesitate to say this out loud, because I don’t want to sound like a Clinton hater or conspiracy nut, but if she was second fiddle, wouldn’t Obama’s life be more in jeopardy than it already is? I’m not saying that she would, you know, do such a thing, but… well, you know.
I don’t think nominee Obama takes Hillary for VP. In that scenario, it might make more sense for Hillary to run for Majority Leader of the Senate. I’m partial to Richardson because I was backing him for President until he dropped out; he would be a great asset and go a long way to redressing the “lack of experience” issue McCain is sure to raise.
duros, my god, why even bring up such an innuendo? Holy frack, man!

Yes, it would.
Bill Clinton is talking out his…uh…hat when he says a ticket with both Obama and Hillary would be unstoppable. That would, in fact, be the worst possible choice for the Dems.
The Democratic ticket will already have to overcome the disadvantage of being headed by a woman or an African-American. Putting both on the same ticket just doubles the incentive for intolerance to determine the outcome.
If a deal has to be struck for one of the two candidates to emerge the clear winner, the offer should be made for any job EXCEPT vice president.
duros, my god, why even bring up such an innuendo? Holy frack, man!
Dude, I know.
Well, see why I was hesitant?
Actually–let’s ignore the Clinton-Mafia silliness for a second–Obama with Clinton as veep could possibly render him the safest man in the nation, much in the way that nobody dared assassinate George H.W. Bush if it meant that Dan Quayle would succeed him.
Remember who stockpiles the guns and ammo, and how little they would want to see Hillary take over the Oval Office. For the sake of their half-exploded heads, at least, they’d keep their bullets in their chambers.
Just thought I’d have some fun and stir the pot a bit. You know, there is a possibility that B.O. might not even win the nomination. Last time I looked he was 500 delegates short. Throw Michigan and Florida into the mix and all bets are off. My guess is that their voices will be heard, and it will be their voices who will chose the nominee. Any guesses who that might be?
Hillary Clinton is so funny considering how she is losing in delegates popular vote and states won. She needs to just step aside a let Obama have his shot at McCain. Oh and she REALLY needs to stop saying McCain is better then Obama.

For the record, I wasn’t advancing the Clinton Mafia silliness. You can’t read wingnutty screeds for 7 years and not have some get stuck on you.
She, perhaps, might be on his short list, however.
And yet, I see no one making pronouncements like “Hillary will not be sent back to the kitchen!”
If she were leading in the race and the suggestion was made that she settle for the veep slot, that might be a legit argument. But the meme being pushed is that even though Obama has won more contests and has more delegates he should just give it up to Sen. Clinton and settle for being her second fiddle like a good little boy.
You don’t see anything wrong with that? You don’t see any parallels between that and the pattern in our history of blacks and other minorities doing the same jobs but not the same rewards?
Come on. Let’s be real.
You don’t see anything wrong with that? You don’t see any parallels between that and the pattern in our history of blacks and other minorities doing the same jobs but not the same rewards?
I don’t.
I think Ms. Clinton would make the same suggestion if her opponent was a white man or another woman. I think the “back of the bus” stuff is overly dramatic posturing.
Let’s take it apart, shall we?
First, the ticket. The first time it was mentioned, Hillary Clinton said something to the effect of “maybe we should run together but first we’d have to decide who’s on top of the ticket. The people of Ohio say it should be me.”
And what would you expect her to say? “I’m perfectly willing to take the VP slot?” As long as she stays in the race, she has to talk as if she’s running for President, not Vice President. Anyway, the people of Ohio don’t get to decide.
After that first mention, I haven’t seen anyone in the Clinton campaign say which of the two should be at the top of the ticket.
Second, if the Clinton campaign is suggesting that Mr. Obama fold his hand and accept the VP slot now, they’re dreaming. As you correctly point out, he’s leading the race.
Finally, “parallels between that and the pattern in our history of blacks and other minorities doing the same jobs but not the same rewards?” You’re suggesting that Ms. Clinton is making this suggestion because Mr. Obama is black? In case you hadn’t noticed, she also wants to be President. By my reckoning that carries quite a lot more weight in her thinking.
The people of Ohio say it should be me.”
And yet, the people from 25 other states say otherwise..
Obama should use her own words to hang her.
Obama:
I cannot, in good conscience, choose as my Vice Presidential Running Mate, someone who has expressed doubts about my capabilities as Commander-in-Chief. Senator Clinton has done that, and though it is within her right, I’m sure she understands that’s why it disqualifies her from being my choice.
I would like to introduce to you my Vice Presidential Nominee: ————.
