During the primaries, there was all kinds of hand wringing about how McCain wasn't a "real" conservative and how they would stay home in protest. This scandal has shown that in the end, they will go to the mats to defend ANYONE with an (R) after their name. For Republicans, there are no principles, its all about what "team" you are on. It's too bad they put their "team" over principles, and sadly ahead of their country. Move on to the defense of Rick Renzi... Good for him! And I'm sure he donated all the money the lobbyists gave him to opensecrets.org, too. He's such a straight-shooting ethical maverick, that McCain! Sure he cheated on his first wife with the rich heiress who became his second wife, but I'm sure he'd *never* cheat on the rich heiress! He's simply too ethical! Just ask Chris Matthews!
