The magic continues.
But the campaign has something of a shellshocked feel, as staffers privately chew over a blowup last week where internal frictions flared into the open. Clinton campaign operatives say it happened as top Clinton advisers gathered in Arlington, Va., campaign headquarters to preview a TV commercial. “Your ad doesn’t work,” strategist Mark Penn yelled at ad-maker Mandy Grunwald. “The execution is all wrong,” he said, according to the operatives.
“Oh, it’s always the ad, never the message,” Ms. Grunwald fired back, say the operatives. The clash got so heated that political director Guy Cecil left the room, saying, “I’m out of here.”
If Sen. Clinton ends up winning this thing – and its still possible she could, don’t count her out – she’s got to promise that Mark Penn’s only involvement with the White House is coming over for tea. And not for a long tea.
Don’t count her out yet….the claim is that she may resort to “incendiary means” to lock this up…destroying the party and possibly the country to get that coronation that she thinks she “rightly deserves”
Penn just can’t stop stepping in it, can he? Has Penn ever heard of John Lennon?
I am suprised there hasn’t been more said about Penn being a close friend of union busters. I wonder if Obama will bring it up in Ohio.
What’s more annoying, a Mark Penn comment, or the deafening chorus that quote him incessantly, ad nauseam, non-stop, 24/7…?
And remember, any criticism against Obama is a personal attack on you!
I remember the Clintons being more coffee people than tea people. But that’s neither here nor there.
Far be it from me to defend Mark Penn, but …
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS ONE?
Hillary 4 U & Me
And any attack on Mark Penn is an attack on Hillary? Au contraire. What Oliver and most of the rest of us are against here is less Hillary and more squarely Mark Penn’s so-called political operative chops.
Say she wins the primary. Is Mark Penn and his terminal sputtering, foot-in-mouth, half-assed approach to campaigning going to be what we want facing off against the GOP noise machine?

This storyline has been written long ago. And if you guys would stop buying into this crap we’d be alot better off. So tell me when all the garbage gets started on Obama, all the real crazy shit — who you going to blame? The media? It will be much too late by then….and you should have thought about that when you enabled these sick fuckers to do it on the Clintons.
Congratulations! Your post has been verified to contain 100% Empty Rhetoric!
Mark Penn has taken a candidate who was considered the far-ahead, “inevitable” candidate nearly across the board and has allowed that juggernaut to be overtaken by Obama. His strategy is suspect at best, disastrous at worst.
Spider
I don’t have a dog in the fight, all I can say [again] this storyline was written long ago.
Was this ever going to go down any different with the Clintons?
1. Chelsea = slut
2. Bill = racist
3. Hillary robot who cries fake tears.
C’mon. You’re living in a dream world if you think they pull this garbage on Obama.
You’re right. They pull entirely different garbage on Obama–Inexperienced, Self-Serving, Secretly Muslim. The difference is that the media hasn’t had as much time to help those charges stick.
Regardless, I’m talking about Penn, here. I don’t trust Penn.
This story is from NEWS Corp.-owned subsidiary the WSJ, people. Cannot be taken seriously. Really.
I would expect this same story, “Hillary’s Campaign in SHAMBLES!!! Her Aides are DESERTING her like the RATS they are!!!” to be rewritten and reprinted and rebroadcast about 19,000,000 times before the Dem Convention in Denver.
It sure looks like we’re not gonna have a candidate until then.
The GOP attack machine brought out the first shit-shovellers and heavy character-shredders to use on Obama this week. Rush and Hannity started to hit him hard, and I can feel the Obama narrative begin to change as we speak.
I have no idea what shape Obama’s going to be in next summer, but believe me: It ain’t gonna be ANYTHING like the way America sees him today.
