That is almost worrying.
Because on the one hand there is no one who is a bigger expert on not being ready, able or competent to be Commander in Chief than George W. Bush. No president in history has been less ready, less able or less competent.
On the other hand, Bush has shown himself to be supremely unable to judge talent or ability in others. His checklist of qualities he looks for in appointees and employees starts and ends with loyalty, connections and partisanship. To Bush, Competence is an eight letter word for decathalon. Compete-tens.
Since experience and qualifications factor nowhere in Bush’s ability to judge the right person for any job, his ability to recognize his own kind of incompetence and inability is cancelled out making his opinion worthless.
Experience is only meaningful if the person has been doing things correctly. In President Bush’s case, eight years means nothing.
“Of course President Bush would attack the one candidate in this race who opposed his disastrous war in Iraq from the start. But Barack Obama doesn’t need any foreign policy advice from the architect of the worst foreign policy decision in a generation,”
word.
Foreign policy advice from George Bush Jr. is like advice on keeping your band together by W. Axl Rose.
