Double Digit Win For McCain In New Hampshire?

If I were a betting man, I would probably put that cash on McCain in New Hampshire ASAP. Why? Well, Hugh Hewitt says that Mitt Romney has won this weekend and that John McCain is “knee deep” in immigration. As my readers know, one of the prime rules we follow around here is that Hugh Hewitt Is Wrong On Everything. Almost to a “t”, reality is the opposite of what Hugh Hewitt says.

    Hail, Redskins.

Damn. I’m kinda hoping Mitt wins this since it takes McCain out of the race for good. Unless the Hayseed Revolution is stopped, this would make Mitt the de facto Republican nominee, which would pretty much make the real Presidential race the Democratic primaries.

Romney should be using this as his main attack. “If Huckabee wins the nomination, it will be a major blow for fiscal conservatives like myself. I’m the only one on the Republican side who is a fiscal conservative, social conservative, and a foreign policy conservative.”

McCain is the only one I’m worried about on the Republican side. I’m hoping his money problems will kill him.

It’s kind of funny, the Republicans problem. Their most hated serious candidate is the most conservative (John McCain) while their most hated Democrat is the most conservative Democrat (Hillary Clinton).

What it indicates with me is that the GOP distraction machine is coming back to screw them hard. They have trained voters on their side to focus on wedge issues (immigration, abortion) over more salient issues of leadership and intelligence. They have trained their attack dogs to target Hillary rather than our candidates with real progressive values.
